Ban system question

How long do you have to wait untill your bans go down 1 step on the ban ladder. I heard its 3 months, but can somebody confirm? I dont want to risk permaban because of fake reports, I played too long on this acc to just throw it out of the window... Btw I did deserve the 14 day ban, so dont spam the downvote.
