About ready to give up

Good evening all,

As a long time player of LoL it is with great sadness that i am about ready to give up the game. The level of rage and hate in this gaming community has gone from simply being bad to outright appalling.

I have a story of my most recent game i would like to get off my chest. Sorry for the long rant.

Following the recent addition of more support champs i decided i would like to pick up Zyra as a support in an attempt to carry the bot lane to victory and hopefully pull me out of elo hell.

While learning the champ i have stopped playing ranked and am playing standard draft queue and if i thought the players of low elo ranked were bad those who play in normal games are simply atrocious.

I understand people want to experiment but when your adc Xerath (still building mage items naturally) goes 0-10 in a game you've gotta wonder about the intelligence of the person playing them!

That game was bad but here are the scores from my recent game

We were comfortably winning the bot lane, Zyra's poke easily pushing an Ez and Trundle away from the farm allowing my Ashe free farm. In the meantime the rest of the team unfortunately were sucking something crazy and this is where it all went south. The Veigar was 0-4 at this point, the Graves was equally suffering and there was an Akali on the other team running rampant with something like 5 kills. The flaming on the team was in full swing with the team on a knife edge of full self destruction.

Meanwhile in our own little island in bot lane life was still good, at this point we took our bot tower and i backed leaving the the Ashe to join the Graves for some counter jungling.

It's at this point they ran into Akali who promptly 1 shot the pair of them.

This one fight combined with the flame war going on in the team was enough to end the game. The Ashe then decided to suicide into an enemy tower twice just to spite the team and we lost soon after.

How can these people play this game? How can they hate it so much yet still come back for more? I've been playing this game for over 5 years now and consider this to be pretty much the best game ever made yet am about ready to stop playing due to the terrible state of the players in the game.

:(

When I practice something new in Normal Draft so I can (potentially) bring it into Ranked, I've learned to not worry about the performance of my team or if we actually win. Pay attention to how you handled different situations (like getting ganked, or trading poke in lane) and how good your map awareness is while playing (the more comfortable you are the more attention you can give to the rest of the map). If you can get your Normal MMR high you can rely on your team more, but don't worry about that in the meantime.

No, you really don't have to wonder. People experiment. People play silly things. The meta usually revolves around things that reliably work, so non-meta things are normally hit or miss. When they hit it's a wild success, but when they miss it's an utter failure. To me this sort of thing is pretty self evident, so it's not Xerath's intelligence I'm wondering about here.

They don't hate the game, they hate the people playing it. They let their own frustration control their actions, instead of being a normal person who has some sort of emotional control. It's a game, so why worry about stuff like that?

They try their best, but because of things outside of their control their best isn't good enough. Some people accept what happened as something they couldn't stop and move on with their lives, but others can't. They feel the need to blame something to reinforce the idea that it wasn't their actions that led to their defeat. It's an unhealthy way of thinking and these people deserve our pity.

I don't know just how long you've played, but I've seen players like this in every season since season 1. It's nothing new, and the sooner you learn to accept it for what it is the sooner you can move past it yourself. Just use your mute button, learn what you can from every loss, and try to have some fun.

Dude, I know the feel of being support, having a good time, maybe not winning lane but not necessarily losing, yet my other lanes are just going ape shit on each other cause they all have ten deaths (Thats an exaggeration but you get the point.) I usually just mute, and focus on doing as much as I can to get my ADC ahead in kill/farm, and if that doesnt work at least I don't have to read their Toxic AF opinion and had fun with my hopefully not toxic ADC.
