First time having a ban, ever.

So I got super mad in one of my games, and flew off the handle at my ADC. It was uncalled for, and I'm pretty damn sure I deserve the ban, but I'm just confused at to what the 14-day ban entails, as this is my first time ever being in trouble with Riot.

I got the message saying all free rewards were cancelled, and my honor level would drop to 0.

Does this mean that if I make the climb to gold+ next season, I lose out potentially on the ranked border, victorious skin, and other such rewards? Or do I lose my rewards for this year, as we are still in preseason?

If it means I lose my rewards at the end of the next season, then so be it - I was wrong in what I said, but I am still pretty upset about it.

Raging is never justified, even if said rager is on a consistent loss streak.

Edit: I'm also really confused as to why it jumped straight to a 2 week ban - to my knowledge and memory (Which isn't the best, granted,) I haven't even had so much as a restriction for years. Perhaps the things I said? Could someone shed light on that for me too, just so I have a better understanding?

Update: i have submitted a support ticket to Riot, but I know from previous experience with support that they can sometimes take a couple days to respond, depending on how busy they are. Could anyone shed light on why it jumped straight to a two week ban? Are there other instances of this happening to first time offenders?

from my PSA: I JUST GOT A 14-DAY BAN!?!? (Q/A compilation)

Q: Can I get my ban lowered or lifted? I've seen other people who have done the same thing and gotten away with it...

unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that they probably won't be able to do that. You can try, but it says explicitly in the terms of use that Riot's ability to enforce certain rules is independent of their enforcement of those rules.

Meaning, if they catch a person and punish them for doing something while not being able to punish another person for doing the same thing, they can still punish you for the full punishment that they deem appropriate for your offense. When you hit the perma mark it can't be undone. Mostly all bans are final and can't be reversed for the most part (except in a few very, very rare cases)

If you feel like it can help, message Riot or try to get someone to look at your ban to see if you can get a reduced sentence. The only instances I have seen that have a chance of success are those instances where:

  1. The individual has never received a punishment prior and has a good record. OR, they have had very, very minor instances of punishment and toxicity.
  2. The individual's Chat logs were not overly vulgar, grossly toxic, and inflammatory.
  3. The individual was sincere about the toxicity of his Chat-logs and realized that the behavior was worthy of punishment, but was only in disagreement with the actual punishment.
  4. The offense was an isolated incident.

If this fits you, then message Riot. HOWEVER, do not feel entitled or deserving of a smaller punishment and do not feel like Riot is obligated to lift or reduce your ban. The likelihood is very low that your case is a valid case for a legitimate reduction or a reversal of punishment.

Anyway, if it's true that you've never received a ban before and this is your first offense. If you message Riot Support nicely and explain to them that this is your first offense, that you just had an off game, and that you deserve a punishment but think a restriction is more appropriate: you may be able to convince one of them to give you restriction instead. (but it also depends on how long you've actually been playing league)

So, send in a ticket.

However, just keep in mind that it also depends on what you said and how you said it. Some language and behaviors get punishments that are entirely deserved, and if this is the case with your chat-logs then you may just need to accept the outcome.

Some language is 0% tolerance, and you should know what triggered your ban. Get your chat-logs and look through them. Figure out what exactly set off your ban.

One thing to keep in mind is that certain words in chat are detected by the IFS and will result in an INSTANT 14 day ban. Homophobic, racist, or incredibly toxic phrases, like “kill yourself” or its abbreviation “kys” are examples of these trigger phrases. You may want to post the logs here. While I’m not saying you shouldn’t post a ticket, we might be able to help you determine what MAY have caused the insta-ban.

Update;

A rioter replied to my support ticket. It seems like they didn't even bother to read the 10+ paragraphs I replied, and the reply they wrote basically surmounts to "Nope, you're toxic, stick with the ban."

7 years, and no priors, and I have one bad game, and it isn't taken into consideration.

Yeah, I messed up, but now I'm just depressed.
