Lost My Honor, I Want it Back
Ok, so I have no idea where this is supposed to go, Mods feel free to let me know if there's another place to put it, thanks in advance.
Note: TL;DR at the bottom for those of you who don't want to empathize with my situation.
So to kick off this trainwreck of a situation, I'd like to say that I'm usually a very respectful person. In real life, I don't say rude things, I don't do rude things unless someone has already treated me poorly and I can justify myself for a rude comment or action. When I first started playing this game? That... was a different story. I was super competitive, hated losing... always blamed my teammates and never wanted to hold myself accountable for poor play. That was 4 years ago.
Now? After having a 3 day ban instilled once, and possibly because of anti-anxiety/depression meds, I've reformed so to speak. When the new honor system came out, I was really intrigued, and pretty happy to see that Rito had been willing to give players rewards for good behavior. Seemed like that would make the toxicity level go down a bit, and make games more fun. I was even getting honors myself! Which sometimes I didn't feel I deserved, but nevertheless I made it all the way to Honor 4 after approximately 70 games of ARAM and Ranked queues.
That was, until today. A few hours ago, I queued up for my first game of the day; Everything was going fine until someone locked in Azir top lane, I guess... but I didn't even bring it up in lobby chat because I'd stepped away for a moment. I was jungler (Yep, it's one of those stories), and by 4 minutes every single lane had already given up at least 2 kills to their enemy laners. Needless to say by 15 minutes our team barely had 10 kills and we were already losing our inhibitor turrets. All throughout this time, everyone on my team has decided that flaming me is the right thing to do, and basically act exactly like I did when I first started playing the game.
I was pretty chill about it. It wasn't the first time it happened, and I knew it wasn't going to be the last. I of course, didn't stay silent like I could have, but defending myself didn't seem like too big of a deal since that legitimately happened every game I was flamed and not once had there ever been an issue. Even players on the enemy team agreed with me, when everyone on my team asked in all chat to report me. I could go on about the stats of the game, but because this post is already TL;DR necessary I won't bother, however I was doing the best on my team and could still 1v1 enemies with little trouble if they were split pushing.
As the game came to a close, they once again asked everyone to report me, and of course, since all four of them were toxic, I took the liberty to report an actual offense in hopes of seeing some justice actually done. I take around 5 minutes to cool off, keeping the client open and scrolling through Facebook to clear my head before attempting another game. After entering the game, an in-game notification pops up in the text box saying I'd been automatically given a 10 game chat restriction which, had I known prior to entering the lobby, I wouldn't have queued for a ranked game (Communication is key).
Honestly, the chat restriction didn't bother me. I've had one before, and was familiar with what I needed to do to make it go away. But it was after I received an honor in my first game of ARAM afterward that I noticed something was wrong... extremely wrong. The notification that usually popped up saying "A person not in your party has honored you, unlocking the loading screen flair" didn't show up on top of it. That's where this story pretty much ends.
TL;DR here
Personally I think this is a ridiculous set of circumstances. 4 Players deciding whether or not 70 games of League are worth anything anymore? This should be changed, and I seriously hope there's a way to reverse it. If not, I can't imagine I'll be playing this game much longer. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's working hard for something and having something as silly as 4 people having that sort of power over another player.
Thanks for your time. What do you guys think?
