14 Day Ban With No Warning & First Mark on Account
Hello everyone, just wanted to post this to see peoples opinions. On December 10, 2017, I received my first ever ban on any of my accounts, for 14 days. Me and two of my friends queued up for a game of normals where one of my friends was jungle. He received no leash from the ADC though the ADC clearly was connected and present. He refused to give a leash when the jungler asked and just sat there saying that Master Yi has an auto attack reset, along with the easiest clear in the game out of any jungler. He then proceeded to just continue talking about how giving a leash to Master Yi isn't necessary and is a waste of his time. Master Yi then died to the enemy jungler with almost 25% health difference. Not even five minutes after this game I get a message saying I got a 14 day ban off a single game.

After playing this game for nearly 2.5 years with zero warnings or punishments on multiple accounts (lower level accounts to play with lower level friends). I understand that what I said was extremely vulgar and offensive and I was extremely tilted from past games and my language is no excuse. I understand reactions like this are not justified, nor acceptable and I should have just finished the game and kept my mouth shut. But a 14 day ban after having zero warnings on multiple accounts seems a little harsh for my first time. While I do only say "kys" once and it is at the end of the game, along with using other vulgar language a few times, it is unacceptable behavior from someone who has put so much time into the game.
Riot NeuroCat made a post about infractions and their punishment "First offense: 10 game chat restriction Second offense: 25 game chat restriction Third offense: 2 week ban Fourth offense: Permanent ban" SOURCE : https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/Boqd81O0-upcoming-upgrades-to-chat-restrictions
I was wondering how I skipped over the First and Second offense entirely. I have never received any form of warning or in-game punishment by riot I would understand a week ban or I would even take a 25+ game chat restrictions. I play this game so much and I am so passionate about it, putting in over 1,000 normal games and over 200 games in ranked season 7 but that should mean I need to present the code of honor enforced by Riot more strictly, and for that, I am sorry.
All I am asking is that I get closure on a few things:
- A response from a Riot member explaining why I was hit with a 14 day ban on my first infraction
- A very large chat restriction in place of the 14 day ban (50 I'd happily take, I just want to play)
- A lowering of the 14 day ban
- Or I'm just SOL and I'm waiting out the ban
Thank you for taking the time to read and review this, I look forward to hearing a response.
Post Edit : Thanks everyone for your responses, whether good or bad. I appreciate them all and will reflect on what you all have said. A huge thanks to "The Djinn" on his very quick and helpful response along with other people giving tips on how to make sure I don't ever repeat this.
