Permanent Ban on account that hasn't been played since July

As the title states above, I had moved back in July to prepare for my Master's program at my new university and have not been online since that point. However it seems that someone had been as my account is now banned. I signed on to view the new season changes earlier in the week and this account was permanently banned for chat logs which I will not put in the chat for the sake of keeping this clean. I have talked with support so far and as expected...they say that I am responsible for all activity on my account and that nothing suspicious was reported about it. That is fine, I understand that I am responsible. However, if I am not attempting to sign on or view my activity on this account how am I to know that suspicious activity or flaming or anything is occurring? So because no "suspicious activity" was reported, they simply tell me that my account is no more. But at what point does Riot also have a slight responsibility to say, hey, this guy went from the occasional report with no prior bans (that I can remember) to 2 different hate speech filled bans within a 2 month period. Yes, hate speech, guess what the chat logs looked like, it was disgusting. Something doesn't add up there, I have been playing for close to 5 years now and I just hate to see it end this way with no way to fight my case simply because I had not signed in for an extended period of time to report my account.

If there is truly no way to to solve this case then I suppose the right thing to do is for me bring it to everyone's attention that there is quite a flaw here that might need addressing in the ban department. At what point does activity on an account become "suspicious"? And how would Riot assist players in discovering the account is being used should someone be on it without purchasing, or does that still rely solely on the players discovering it themselves? And if the player truly is solely responsible for his account, why would we not have more security features that say, steam or blizzard have in that putting an extra authentication number/password that can be sent to our phones into the game as an option?

This is why it is WAY overdue for Two-Step Authentication.

You are categorically not responsible for someone else breaking the law and hacking into your account. Ensure that Riot understands this, as they seem to believe otherwise every time something like this happens. Do not accept any justifications for you ban for the cucks on these forums saying shit like "it's your fault for not making your password secure enough" or "you should have checked in periodically to make sure you account wasn't compromised" (you will almost certainly get these comments).

Do not let Riot punish the victim of CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

If there is truly no way to to solve this case then I suppose the right thing to do is for me bring it to everyone's attention that there is quite a flaw here that might need addressing in the ban department.

A flaw that has resulted in numerous cases like your over the years I've been on these boards. Riot most certainly knows about it. Problem is, they do not give a flying fuck about their player base. It's easier for them to just ban you then to actually do their job to protect people. Keep fighting. Riot has overturned decisions like this in the past. Keep posting here and keep banging your head against the wall with support tickets. It doesn't sound like you've talked to a real person yet (it can take literally weeks for the system to pass the report from a bot to a real person, especially with tickets regarding what the system flags as "false ban complaints". Riot literally doesn't care about these because at heart they actually believe that their shit system is working 100% as intended, and entertaining people like you (ie innocent of any wrongdoing) will make their system seem faulty, which in turn makes them look bad. Not good for them, so they just don't do it. But keep trying. You will eventually get a real person who will actually investigate your claims and hopefully be able to uncover the truth.

I do sorry mate. I'm afraid you can't do much if you don't want to make some serious legal moves against Riot Games, but if you haven't spent a fortune on LoL I don't think it worth it. The problem is that you signed the same, pretty unfair terms of use what most online games use - though probably you didn't read it as 99% of people. As you're doing your master's, I'm sure you can comprehend what I cite from the Account Termination part:

"2.1.2. Us.We may terminate or suspend your account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that: (a) you have violated any part of this Agreement; (b) we have stopped offering the Riot Services in your region; or (c) doing so would be in the best interests of our community, the Riot Services, or the rights of a third party. We may make such determinations, among other ways, by using automated systems and machine learning tools."

So, in layman's terms, they can permaban you whenever they fancy :/

Riot has the ability to see what IP you are playing from. it's easy for them to check to see what IP the hate speech came from, they are just too lazy to even do it.

I feel sorry for you man and I hope that you get things worked out because I had an account that I never got back because something similar happened to me. It was banned for hate speech from a totally different IP/Country (they told me the ip came out of europe and I live in the south and have never been to europe) and thus created this one due to the response I got from riot supports lazy employees.

I'll say it again. "You are responsible for all actions on your account" stance is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE as long as Riot doesn't want to provide us with bare minimum in protecting our accounts.

If I get on a fresh computer IP and want to connect to my: -Steam or SWTOR account I have to type in a code from my COMPLETELY FREE app designed specifically for account safety -Guild Wars 2 account I first receive an SMS code which I have to type in -Battle.net or Wildstar I have to verify my email -League? Nip. Nada. Zilch. Zero.

Riot's system is equivalent to a country in which door locks are outlawed, and if someone breaks into your house and robs you blind police refuses to help you with reasoning that you are fully responsible for being robbed because you didn't lock your door.

Even fucking 3rd grade Korean MMO's which make 90% of their money by attracting horny teenagers with boobs have better security in place than biggest, most profitable MOBA int he world. Let that sink in.

Ok, the process to go through is to submit a support ticket at https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new using the "I need help recovering my account" option.

That will get you to the correct people. You will answer questions that prove that the account is yours, then you can dispute the punishment as occurring while you were not accessing the account.

Without that step, it is assumed that everyone on the account was authorized by you, and any action on the account is your responsibility.

"Hey, this account started logging in from a new location and immediately became toxic with no prior history. Maybe we should look into it?"

-Company that gives a shit about account security

ModUlanopo11/12/2017, 11:20:49 PM2 votes

.they say that I am responsible for all activity on my account and that nothing suspicious was reported about it.

This sounds as though the logins were from your IP. That being the case, you may want to look into who else has/had access to your computer and account.

At least you have access to chat logs, I'm permabanned and my email said nothing specific, only that I broke ToU

Just going to be honest.... The fact that you said the ban resulted from two toxic streaks from the summer while you weren't play shows the whole post is BS.

Riot does not tell you that in the ban notice. You get a chat log not a detailed explanation. Pretty sure if they check those IPs they will line up with where you lived at the time, and why would anyone every randomly hack and use a LOL account?

Not a fan of the ban system or the special snowflakes who bang out reports every game, but this ban seems VERY legit.

Guess you just got lured back after seeing the changes, but looks like you'll be on a new account.

JudoToss11/13/2017, 12:47:27 PM1 votes

Gotta keep your passwords secure, my dude. And don't use the same passwords/emails across different accounts. I'm gonna venture a guess that they could check the computer and IP used, but if you took a break but your account did not, that sounds pretty fishy.

With all the complete ignorance on the reward system and the full nerf of orance essence, I'm surprised you were not banned for not buying anything with RP.

Right buddy right, you are veteran lol player who moves to "study" and drops 100% league .. yet follows updates and comes back to check on them, bam ,account banned, what a timing, what a time to be alive, ehhhh ? How about you tell me more mate? Tell me more.. The only chance for you to get something out of this is if different ip would have logged and played few fast toxic streaks on a random timeline between two long time periods of your account being totally inactive. But lets be honest, it's not the case.
