False Banned for 3rd Party Software Help Thread

As many viewers of this forum may have noticed, there have been an alarming number of players who have flocked to the forums confused and needing help since they were seemingly falsely banned for 3rd party software use (myself included). As of now there appears to be no response from Riot to look into this issue or help those affected, but multiple users (myself included) have tried using service tickets to resolve the issue and have so far been unsuccessful. I have so far received 10 pre-written messages from Riot that wrongly claim to have substantial evidence of me using 3rd party software to gain an unfair advantage and have had two separate tickets closed on me. I just want my account back and for this nightmare to end.

This thread is dedicated to discussion of the process and to help those who have been falsely banned. If you have gotten in contact with Riot or have had any success in any way, post here to help others.

It's not alarming, really, it's normal; Riot does bot bans in waves, so they hit hundreds, thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of accounts at one time. This is so that the cheaters have a more difficult time figuring out what behavior gets them caught so they can avoid it, and since so many are hit at once naturally you'll see a large uptick in complaints.

While some complaints may be from script developers to cast doubt on the system and cause a commotion, there certainly may be some who were incorrectly flagged. If you believe your punishment was an error, please write into Player Support through a Support Ticket so they can take another look.

However, you must also consider some other possibilities that could result in your account being legitimately banned even if you were not cheating;

  • Do you...
  • share your account with anyone?
  • share the computer you play with anyone else?
  • use the same login information elsewhere?
  • know or believe someone was on your account?

These kinds of situations may result in someone else using illegal modifications/exploits on your account, or placing them in the client/computer you use resulting in them being detected when you play (even if you don't activate them).

Same thing happened to me. Sent in a support ticket and got this response after about an hour:

Greetings player,

After taking a deeper look at your case I have gone ahead and removed the permaban at this time due to the strange activity that I saw on the account.

However, I would use this as a learning experience and make sure that you keep your account secure so that this doesn't happen again in the future. Remember, as the account owner you still accountable for actions that occur on your account during all games and we will not be able to remove any future punishments issued to this account as this was a one-time exception.

It's okay, I was talking with a teammate and was telling him I was going to be visiting a wellness school In Niger, Africa, within 20 minutes my account was banned for saying something racist. I literally said,

ME: "Dude, I am so excited to meet these kids and try to help them." FRIEND: "Where you going again?" ME: "Niger, Africa!! :O" FRIEND: "Bring a mosquito net, you don't want to contract anything." ME: "No kidding! I'll be safe and bring you have a souvenir." FRIEND: "NICE! THANKS!" RANDOM TEAMMATE: "YOU RACIST PRICK IM REPORTING YOU FA**OT" ME: "Huh? Racist wut r u talking about?" RANDOM TEAMMATE: "Blocked and reported for being a racist and saying the "N" word." ME: "uhhh, I was talking about a place in Africa...."

After the match I went to the store to get some munchies I came back as a banned person...... I pled my case through multiple support tickets, I was advised thet anything closely associated with that word weather it's a place or not is ban able..... How is that fair? LOL!!! I honestly think the system is broken, so I choose not to talk to my teammates (unless I am in a 5man pre-made) and use only pings as communication. I mute my team upon load in.

I got perm banned 30 minutes ago permanently and they didn't even give me a reason...

I haven't done anything bad, no previous penalities, no scripting, no toxicitiy, no acct sharing.....

i dont know whats going on..

i sent a ticket 5 mins after the ban still waiting a response

I was banned a year ago for 3rd party software, but I never did anything that would infringe my account. My first ticket was unsuccessful, but just a few days ago I made another one so I could reopen the case. Right now it looks to be heading in the same direction as the first one. They've been able to tell me what didn't cause the trigger but wont tell me directly what. Its so frustrating since when I got banned, I played on a laptop that could barely run league, its hard to imagine having some sort of program running in the background.

Not sure if this means an actual person looked into my situation but i just got the following message after 11 or so correspondences.

"Hey again,

As I stated previously, I conducted a manual review of your account already. This was not a mistake. Since I have already explained the context regarding your account in ticket #, I will now be closing this ticket. "

I'm not sure what i can do here to prove my innocence but I 100% have never done any of the things they have banned me for. This is ridiculous. I've lost my main account with over 300 dollars worth of skins on it. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
