I just got kicked out of promos because my area had an electrical outage

I've been hovering in Gold 3 for a long time and I finally hit 1 good win streak and got to promos. Lo and behold, my area had an electrical outage and I was forced out of the promos game with a 7/2/5 kda after helping my team secure huge leads in objectives. Needless to say, my team won yet I not only took a loss, but I also lost my whole series.

Rage quitting games is awful but in this context, I obviously didn't quit out of anger or to spite anyone (I mean, it was promos ffs!). It was my first offense and out of my control, yet I was punished so harshly. Was kicking me out of promos reasonable? Was counting it as a loss really necessary? I believe I was a positive force for my team and plenty of people manage to be a negative force for their team by staying in the game.

People don't leave games for only malicious reasons. Shit happens and that should be taken into account when issuing punishments.

No way for them to know why you DCed... It was on your end and their server had nothing to do with it so there is nothing you can do about it. It's really sad it happened but such is life.

Get a UPS with a 2 hour battery backup, hook all your crap to it, your fault.

Limitations on technology make it impossible to differentiate between an actual outage and your router being mysteriously unplugged.

When you get back to promos (which are bullshit anyway; the real complaint is that they still exist) you get a free one. This will get you as far as platinum, as I recall.

Then you wont get kicked out of games anymore over a power-outage unless its like city wide then maybe its possible your internet would still go down.
