Interesting results to a poll about verbal abuse (not mine)

Poll of the Day - How do you feel when online game companies ban player accounts solely for verbal abuse? - GameFAQs

Gamefaqs.com, an older site, runs a daily poll on their homepage and I thought that todays was very interesting.

the question was, HOW DO YOU FEEL WHEN ONLINE GAME COMPANIES BAN PLAYER ACCOUNTS SOLELY FOR VERBAL ABUSE?

you have to vote to see the current results but as of this writing there is almost 6,000 votes and 73.8% of them are in favor of banning.

I know there are rules against posting studies and stuff so I'm not sure if this qualifies. If it does that was not my intention.

I just thought those results from a completely neutral community would be good conversation

The results are a perfect bell curve, so while 7000 or so votes isn't a ton, it's a decent enough sample to show a moderate point of view, that "game companies should take player issues seriously."

I feel like the poll is missing another option. It has 3 options of agreeing, each one representing the level of agreeing (2 lenient, aka, we need bigger punishments, awesome and good), and then you have options where you COMPLETELY DISAGREE (unfair and it should be criminal act).

going from "its good" to "its unfair" feels like going from one side of the spectrum to another.

There should be another option between those two, something like "it's good, but it should be applied to only extreme cases of verbal abuse", or some transition from agreeing to disagreeing. I would personally pick that one. Just as there would prolly be other people picking the same as me. Which is why it looks like "its good" options kinda has inflated numbers, since there is no other choice for those who are inbetween.

Oh god, the nostalgia.

Gamefaqs for the guides and eventually exploits.

Cheatcodecentral for cheats before them.

And cheatplanet before that.

Not surprising results though.
