I think positional matchmaking is good for ranked

As someone that alternates between jungle and support roles for ranked play, I feel that positional matchmaking will have an overall positive impact on ranked play.

When I play support, one of the things I usually do is look-up my ADC on stat sites to see whether I am supporting a beast or a potato. Of course I would rather get a beast but otherwise I could decide whether to dodge or otherwise play more passively. Reason being, I personally feel that botlane has a lot more technical depth compared to other roles (up to 12 summoner spells and 24 abilities to be simultaneously used when junglers are involved as opposed to 6/12 in solo lanes) that players who sometimes play other roles fail to appreciate adequately. So positioning, especially positional trading is harder to appreciate as compared to solo lanes.

For example I may get someone who is a beast at Azir at mid but doesn’t really understand where to position the wave when he is playing Twitch in the botlane. As a support, I have lesser influence on where my ADC would want to position the wave (if he wants to push I can’t reach through my monitor and strangle him and ask him to stop pushing), so I think positional matchmaking will lessen the chance that I get potatoes to support.

I hate autofill supps so much. they are the only thing that I actually hate about this game. I dislike a lot of things, but autofill supports is THE thing that makes me want to pull my hair out.

I don't even know how supports could possibly deal with autofill ADCs.

it'd just be terrible. it takes so much practice just to get the fundamentals down, I can't even.

you have my sympathy friend

No, offence, you annoy the fuck out of me with that. Past does not dictate future. You are better served focusing on champion picking than judging your team mates that you can't do anything about. Especially in low elos, because generally people there don't respect counter picks.

Maybe you can guess, I'm not very excited about positional ranks. I don't even understand how it's possible. Let's say I get matched into game as top. What if I want to trade positions? Can the system detect correctly? What if I go in game and don't actually go to my assigned lane? Am I going to get top credit because I was assigned top, even though I went bottom the entire game?
