I think the MMR system is bad

I'm I accurate in the following or over-reacting:

The game, League of Legends, is a game that in earlier days I valued; it helped me cope and entertain myself. The game overall used to be fun and was something I enjoyed. The champions are fun and the skins are amazing, which would always get to me and would keep me in the game, but not anymore. I, like many players in my ELO, have become frustrated. Our frustration stems from a variety of things the game lacks. The factors that have contributed to our frustration include: the MMR distribution system, dynamic que, and trolls in ranked. The game would positively evolve, and maintain players like me, if the ranked system was altered in a way that positively affects a majority of the players. The MMR distribution system is faulty, unfair, and creates disadvantages for players. The player is que’d with other players that have a similar MMR; however, the MMR is distributed to them based on game out-come first and then performance, which should instead be distributed by individual performance. This system creates a positive feedback effect, which happens by the more MMR you lose, the more likely you’ll be que’d with lower player, which increase the highly hood of losing some more –this is very bad for the player. If I go 14/4/5 and the rest of my teams is about 5/12/3 and we lose, I still lose MMR even if I out performed them, which in turn increases the likelihood of it happening again. And on the other hand, if a team wins and a player underperforms, he or she still gains MMR.

The solution to the MMR distribution system is by having an MMR system that focuses on individual performs and not win/lose. An example is the following, if at the start of the game all the MMR of the ten players is tossed in a pot and at the end those that perform the best gain MMR – regardless of win or lose – and those that underperform lose MMR. I find myself getting S’s on my champs and role and losing because of a team member’s decision to feed and/or throw, which in-turn causes me to lose MMR and LP and not climb.

Dynamic que is also a problem. Those players that play against dynamic que’s are at a disadvantage. The player can be a god and communicating with pings and chat, however, it does not rival the communication of dynamic que. A possible solutions is to create to ranked systems, one for dynamics and one for solo.

The trolls are a problem, but not the biggest problem. Yeah, trolls afk in ranked causing a 4v5 and putting their team at a disadvantage; however, it is something that would be concurrently fixed by addressing the previous problems.

Let’s face it, the majority of players are players that have a difficulty climb. Those that are trying to climb are the bronze (26.99%), silver (39.04%), and gold players (23.93%). According to the statistics, the players trying to climb make-up about 90% of the League population. We are the avid skin and champ buyers. We are the frustrated. We are the ones that feel trap; when we feel trap we want to escape, which may include dealing and ignoring the ulcer causing system or abandon it completely.

Riot, please make League of Legends enjoyable again.

You are missing the big picture. The MMR System is not made to exaclty messure your skill after you have played 20 games, but it will mesure your skill very accuratly after about 100 games and more.

If you want to climb, don't focus on winning your next ten games at all cost, just try to improve at the game and to be a better player even if it makes you lose a couple of games , Because the next 10 games mean nothing to your overall placement at the end of the season.

If you are "stuck" in Gold, it probably means that is the elo you belong. If you constantly have high scores and still lose the game it just means you are currently unable to transition your lead into objectives, which is on what you should work next. Once you fixed that, you will probably climb some divisions very fast.

I'm "stuck" in low Plat btw, because my mechanics are bad and I don't play to regulary. Shit happens :D

you dont have it quite right. when your mmr lowers you are placed with lower teammates but also with lower enemies. your teammates and your opponents will be roughly the same skill level. so if you really belong higher then you will be able to dominate this lower skill level, and most of the time carry your team to victory.

you are 100% right on dynamic que though. not only do they have better teamwork, they have less chance of getting a troll or an afk. plus part of the dynamic que team is getting carried and mmr boosted, so when he goes to play solo he will not be able to compete. and that will ruin his entire team's game.

It's hard to base MMR on individual performance. You gave examples of high KDA scores... basing MMR on that would destroy people who actually focus objectives. The game is not about KDA, it's about objectives. The proxy singed players that go 1/9 but basically won the game for you, would never go up even though he's a master of split pushing, drawing 2-3 opponents to his lane which allows the rest of the team to push down towers while he runs around for a full minute distracting them until he finally dies (or gets away).

Or say you got a master yi that jungles until he's nearly full build, never helping the team, only coming in after team fights to clean up a few kills. He might even lurk nearby giving you the impression he's gonna help the team, but he just waits and once ur all dead, he goes in, gets a triple and then backs. Yi goes like 14/3 but all he did was play a death match and you lose partly because he never pushed a lane in his life. Just went in, got kills, backed, and then went back to jungling. His kda is great, but this is a team game and he plays it like a death match where all he wants is kills and relies on his team to get objectives.

Individual performance needs to be accounted for in mmr and rankings. It's just a failure to ignore what certain players do even in losses.

For example, 401 cs 9/4/11 500k dmg outpaced entire enemy team for gold, topped wards, got the first kill of the team fight that ended the game, called for baron exactly when we needed it, and kept the enemy off our inhib turrets for over 20 minutes...

This carried a 20 death yasou and a 16 death hecarim, a lee sin support who built like a complete jerk and KICKED PEOPLE I HAD ALREADY JUKED AND WAS ABOUT TO KILL INTO ME SO I DIED TWICE(yes, my score should have been even better but... this guy...), and while my trinkets on cd cause team isn't warding baron and dragon and the enemy team got baron + dragon twice.

But most times this kind of performance is a loss for me in ranked. And there are many times it's just terrible to play the games out.

I feel that there's no accountability other than punishments and that's NOT ok. INDIVIDUALS need encouragement to do well. Getting an S doesn't motivate people to do that. Getting positive LP in a loss because you did well and your team lost it for you would encourage people to well even in tough situations.

I mean think about it... why do I deserve the same score as the lee sin who literally kicked people into me so I die when I'm pulling out stats most bronzies can only dream about?

What if end game looked like this:

Yasou - 39 LP Hecarim -27 LP Lee Sin -25 LP Caitlyn +3LP Aurelion Sol +2LP

This positive influx for overall great performances wouldn't amount to a lot in a loss. But it wouldn't let you slide either for games that you didn't truly get beaten. If people knew this and understood that dying less, team fighting, cs, wards, objectives and building efficiently would help them climb ranks then I think it's reasonable that they'll spend more time trying to do those things and less time crying about the Yasou who died 20 times.

The mmr system is shit, lose 2 games -100 mmr win 2 games +50, it's bs, do you have to win 50 games for every 25 games?
