if someone is blaming me for playing poorly, how do I tell them that it's their own fault?

Or what is the appropriate response? If you can't ever call anyone a noob or tell them to learn to play? I'm just a at a loss of words then

Short version; you don't. Long version; you mute them and ignore them. Do not blame them in response.

If you can't ever call anyone a noob or tell them to learn to play?

Calling someone a noob is pretty much an insult 95% of the time. Very, very rarely does someone who's been playing for a long time ever get the opportunity to meet a real newbie.

Likewise, telling someone to "learn to play" is also an insult, since, again, you're implying that they somehow don't know how to play the game while you somehow know better than them. If they need to learn to play, then, likely, so do you - as you get matched with people of similar skill levels.

I'm just a at a loss of words then

Not insulting people isn't hard, dude. If you can't keep yourself from insulting people, then you're better off not using the chat at all.

Just mute 'em. There's nothing you can say that will change their mind, and anything you do say will just start (or prolong) an argument, probably leading to further breakdown of communication.

u mute and focus on your playstyle.

assume the 0,00001% chances they are right, just assumption eh, u are never wrong ofc, anyway, muting them will make u focus more on yourself removing any trace of that % of poor playing , hence they cannot flame u anymore.

assume they are just bad, mute them to play good by your side because effort. moreover in the long run showing they are wrong make them focus more on themselves and maybe at the end u win.

so /mute.

if they are breaking rules, report end game.

Maybe you could try to give them some advice on how to play better?

Or just mute them.
