Punishment system is a flawed.

So I haven't been playing lol for months, and a few weeks ago came back and just now got a 14 day ban for flaming. I'll be the first one to admit that I am a toxic player who is easily capable of starting to insult people (calling them trash, mostly) when they make serious gameplay mistakes or personally attack me. Fine, I deserve a punishment. But does it have to be a 2 week ban and a perma ban sometime later? I know my temper won't change. Eventually someone will once again trigger me to the point where I get multiple reports and an autoban. But I never troll in any other way. I always (99% of time, at least) play to the best of my ability, never intentionally feed or ruin game in other way. So wouldn't a permanent chat ban/restriction will be a more fitting punishment for me? I would eagerly mute myself if there were such an option, most people communicate with pings nowadays anyway, words are no longer essential for efficient gameplay. I understand that I deserve a punishment, but I do strongly feel that this is the wrong one... You don't give a life sentence to a person who screams profanities on a street, after all.

Totally agree, you don't.

But remember, you're not getting a life prison sentence. You're getting a game ban. Be glad you're not getting a police citation, counseling and community service for screaming profanities through the street.

Lighten up on the rage a bit, k?

14-day ban out of nowhere sounds like you were using slurs, which Riot explicitly has a zero-tolerance policy regarding. Gotta not do that.

Permanent chat bans were used in the long-past days of the Tribunal, but they tended to just result in other methods of trolling, so the practice was ended.

Bear in mind that this isn't a street though -- it's Riot's private servers, which they are letting you access.

I would ban someone who reliably screams profanities from my bar, restaurant, movie theater, golf course, or house. They've proven they can't behave themselves in my privately owned and operated area, and, as such, it is within my rights to tell them never to come back, and bar them from doing so if necessary.

Even if they're happily playing golf or sitting in their own booth, their behavior and the mood they create is enough to make them a negative influence on the environment. So even if you don't troll and you always play to win, there can still be valid justification for wanting you to either moderate your behavior or find another game to play.

Look into unbinding your "enter" key. It should make it so you can't chat in game.
