So today I got chat restriction ban. Why? Because when you try to help out other players by pointing out errors (IN A KIND WAY) or giving them helpful tips, they get defensive and automatically assume you're flaming them. Then what do these children do? They report you because they can't handle tips and get defensive. I express all the time that I am not flaming, yet people want to get mad and report you anyways. I really hate the toxic people in this game and do my best to report them when they deserve it. I know I'm not the only person who has experienced this. Getting reported for doing nothing wrong is very frustrating. Even, worse parties of people can gang up on someone in solo queue, even when someone apart of said party is in the wrong or being toxic. I know the toxicity will never be stopped. that's fine. But I would like to make sure that people who get banned but don't deserve it don't get punished. Also, does me getting the chat restriction ban nullify me receiving end of season rewards for good behavior? I have received the rewards every season and would be a little let down if I didn't get the reward this season because some people can't handle the truth and want to report me. Anyways, I just with the community wouldn't be so toxic. It gets old after a while when every other game has someone whining at you and flaming without the fear of being banned. I hear "Go ahead, report me. RIOT doesn't do anything anyways" quite frequently. Something should be done. I wouldn't mind so much because they are just tough words spoken over a keyboard. But when I am being punished for being a kind LoL player, that is where I become tilted. I'm expecting some toxic comments from toxic people on here, but if anyone has some helpful advice i would gladly like to see what you have to say.

Can you post the chat logs? If Riot chat restricted you for no reason, I'd like to see some evidence so I know for sure instead of just taking your word for it.

Ya I hear that a lot but I have yet to see someone post their logs where they don't say shit to anyone and just play.

People literally flame with that exact purpose. Just so you flame back and they can report you. I never say shit in game though, so not everyone. Riot has a noose around our necks so I just don't risk it.

Oh ya think so huh? Do you actually believe everything you hear from people who have been punished and come on the forums to tell people riot did it for no reason? Why do they never post their logs? You know Lyte used to come into threads like that and show their logs for everyone to see how full of shit the OP is. Don't believe everything you hear from strangers on a game forum. They're clearly salty over being punished and therefore lose some credibility... also the stranger thing. It could be a 12 year old kid who doesn't have the self awareness to know what they're doing wrong so they claim riot did it for no reason. It could be someone who just wants to defame riot out of spite for Banning them. It could be some kid telling the truth... if it is, just show me logs.

Idk lol. I think they send you the logs in your report ticket (?) and I guess you copy paste em? Idk man I've never been punished.

Here's the thing... I'm sure you didn't say anything that bad. It does suck that riot is so strict on "toxic" chat. It infuriates people... someone says some shit to you and you can't say anything back or you could be punished too. The only good thing about it is it dissuades a lot of people to spend half the match arguing over some stupid shit. That's the only reason I could see punishments being good. However it isn't working, clearly. I wish they could just focus on catching trolls who aren't obvious about their trolling but I guess that's pretty hard to do resource-wise, unless you don't care about false positives, because you'd need humans looking at the many thousands of games that reports happen in.

So I don't care about people being offensive. I think the world is becoming too sensitive and it's very bad for the masses because it makes it easier on the government to keep people passive and keep eachother in check. Ridicule and shaming goes a long way with social control.

I do care about people focusing on a pointless argument in the middle of a game. And I have a feeling that's why you got chat restricted. You politely made suggestions to allies... allies gave a rude response (I often get "stfu ur trash anyways") and you responded, then they responded, then you kept responding and it turned into a chat war. I don't want that in a game. I could be wrong, which is why I'd like to see logs, and I apologize for making assumptions, but I have to use past experience... I have pretty decent judgement in life.

Anyways, maybe someone will come in here n tell ya how to post logs. Sorry this got so long... I'm bored at work lol.

Shhh. Once you have been punished once, its a never ending shitstorm of wrongly earned punishments. I would just get rid of the account now. You will be banned for doing nothing at all from now on. Just uninstall, and save yourself a lot of stress. ;) Play more fun games like borderlands, overwatch, fallout, skyrim shit like that. Have fun uninstalling !!!!

Probably the best thing I've heard so far. If i haven't invested so much money in this game I would definitely uninstall. But next time, next time they get me I'm done with this game. Even Call of Duty has a better community of players. Just tired of the harassment from everyone.

Bronze logic is like that. Do not help them, just ignore. Most players in that elo will continue to play completely inefficient regardless of what you say. Despite the initial intention of League of Legends having players help others if they are doing poorly around the start of the community, the low skilled section of the community has proven over time and time again that it is best simply to let them fail. There's plenty of instructional content out there to learn, so don't feel obligated. Everything you say even if helpful can result in toxicity from the noob.

It is a sad reality, but it is best not to repeat any "points" for builds.

Thank you. People can't take help. Like I've been playing this game since the start of season 2 so you would think that maaaaaaybe i would have picked up something playing with plat and diamond players. They are that high for a reason.

You obviously did something against the code or else no punishment would be warranted. I see too many of these my team is toxic but I'm not and got punished threads. Use the mute function and know that not everyone is a LCS pro.. but also know even the best players have bad games, Teemo bad days and day plays.

K obviously you are all the type of people who are toxic in game. Because if you weren't then you would know exactly what I'm taking about. You all can harass me all you want but I didn't even know posting chat logs was a thing. So all you people who think I'm a 12 yr old bronzie can jog on. I was just asking if anyone else experiences the shitiness of other players. Obviously it has expanded from the game into the forums as well. My punishment hardly lasted 24 hours so it hardly was a big deal. I just wondered if anyone had this trouble. I just got platinum. Guess what i just got a 14 day ban.

Guess who's going to go bat shit on the report function when the ban ends? That's right I AM. You guys like to hit the report function when you don't get your way? When your feeling angry and you want someone to suffer? Do you like talk everyone into reporting another player and placing blame on others? If i so much as here a PIN DROP. Not only am i going to report. Ill send a report ticket with a word for word copy and paste of end game chat.

A toxic community took something away from me today. Something i worked very very hard for. I never report players. I say what i need to say and suck it up like a man, but you crossed the line today. If i cant have my plat border i will have your account.

You guys wanna abuse a system? Two can play at the game. Just hope you don't get me in your game and heaven forbid you say anything nasty.

Hate to break it to you, but getting reported =/= getting banned. Only way to get banned is to break the rules.

No another player who also broke the rules but was enough of a scumbag to actually click the report function got me banned. Also the system goes on the X number of reports. With a chat restriction all it takes is for you to sqeak and if someone doesn't like it. Well to bad for you.

My support weight wont be lowered. Your being really offensive in response to my comment and i feel harassed. I was simply upset because my 4 years of blood sweat and tears has been for nothing. And then you post something very negative and abusive like this?

I'm sorry but i'm going to have to report you for harassment. Being negative and dark with your comments is not helping the communty to be a better place and is promoting toxic behavior. The same kind that you just showed everyone in this forum right now.

I am deeply sorry to hear that. That makes ME angry. I just found out i cant get LP from winning ranked matches and I cant get the victorious skin now. All because people cant take advice. I am strongly considering uninstalling League and just playing Heroes of the Storm. I know for a fact they have a nice community and not a bunch of trolls. The saddest part is RIOT won't care. they'll just be like oh ok leave we have millions of others playing. but thats business i guess.

Yep me too. It's pretty awful. In my 20 years of gaming i have never been so utterly disturbed. When i started playing league of legends i remember feeling horrible for the things people would say...mostly because i was new and it happened in every game. I dealt with this by lashing out and defending myself. It helped curb the abuse. I rarely say a damn thing in chat. But when people gang up on my i go ape shit. They proceed to report.

I didnt bring the behavior into league of legends. A behavior was taught and reinforced as i played the game and a way with cooping with a high negativity level due to the lack of a feature that allows me to disable chat and just enjoy my time playing the game.

Now i have to be punished due to a feature i never wanted in the first place.

I think people should be able to say what they need to say. This is the nature of games. People get angry. You move onto the next game. Or you disable chat. Which no one has the option to do sadly.
