Choosing ranked match

So I've been finally playing ranked and made it to my promo series of Bronze 1. I proceeded to play 4 games and won them. Here's my problem: I know for a fact I clicked on the ranked playlist every time. But then after game the win doesn't go towards my promos because it says (Normals) in the after game report. I get so excited that I won a promo game just to find all that work was for nothing. Is this some kind of bug or am I just going crazy?
