League's punishment system.

So, Is one of leagues punishments to be put with the most toxic player league has to offer? Because at this point I have no idea what I did wrong to deserve to be put with the biggest jerks to roam the summoners rift. Like seriously, Ive been playing for years and I am just put with the meanest people, I'm on the verge of quitting this game, which sucks because this game has come to mean a lot to me. It was a place to escape to when times were tough. But now, now it has me stressed because of the way people treat one an another. I know moba's are notorious for having rude players but its just gotten worse over the years. I understand that would most like be because of the increased number of people playing. Sigh. League is great. Just frustrating. I'm in silver, should i just try to get higher like gold? does it get any better?
