Why is 455 an offensive word

I'm from the USA and don't understand why Riot considers that offensive.

The chat filter is a little... peculiar. There are a lot of things that get blocked for no reason. "kiki" gets blocked (apparently her delivery service is too mature) and I've seen someone say that something like "64k" was blocked as well.

He didn't call anyone a potato. He insulted Riot (in what could be seen as bitter sounding) and then used an analogy of insulting a potato means it's okay for everyone else to jump in and insult him... which is poor logic on your part tbh. You two clearly have some resentment towards eachother and you're only making yourself look like the bad guy, man, just drop it. You passive aggressively insult him with "it's kind of sad" ... just come on. This is my observation on the matter, as I have no horse in this race, and no history or bias with either of you.

I do have a bias based on prior contact, but I find it strange that a guy that claims people should be allowed to be toxic without restraint in a game is now offended by what he perceives as harassment. The double standard is what irritated me. I will concede that I may have gone too far though. This is my first time conversing with a telephone booth, so it's a bit awkward. Thanks for the input!

All good. People get lost in their own points and forget how it looks from the outside looking in. One point spawned into another and the next thing you know, you're in a petty, pointless argument. Just try to remind yourself of the saying; "arguing with idiots only makes you look like one too". Not saying he's an idiot, just a general saying I like to go by to keep myself in check and prevent frustration from arguing with people I perceive as idiots.

I only say he's "asking for it" because of his previous post history being so negative and bitter all the time. The way people act often comes around back at them. If he opens a discussion with an insult, what is there to discuss? He hasn't said one positive thing that I'm aware of and people have tried to talk with him on equal grounds and been shot down. That being said, I'll leave it at that Nami, so we don't need to escalate the matter.

I thought about that when i first dowloaded the new client, and i was amazed by the fact that they actually implemented such an advanced filter. I mean, why hire and pay somebody to fix all the shitty bugs the client has, the framerate drops, the resources it devours, the garbage item set editor, the laggyness, and a bunch more of stuff...

When you can pay somebody to sit there and either code an algorithm that finds every single combination possible of ascii characters/actually manually inserted all of them so you can finally purge out mean words?

That's riot games in a nutshell for ya folks.

I'd assume their system accounts for basic letter substitutions considering how often people use them to bypass filtering. For example,

1 = L 3 = E 4 = A 5 = S 0 = O

In this case, it might be matching "455" as "ASS" and censoring it accordingly.

The system for censoring words is designed to see some numbers as letters so people cant avoid the system by writing sh1t, for example. I assume this means you can 'type' some swears fully in numbers.
