No escalating punishment system?

I just received a 14 day suspension. I was in a game where all of a sudden 2 people on my team decided to start blaming me for the loss saying I didn't rush ardent censor and I'm trash blah blah... which clearly tilted me and I began fighting back. Stupidly, I /all chatted saying my team mates were blaming me, which the enemy team then took as a trigger to start trying to tilt my whole team and also started abusing me in all chat.

I'm not going to say I didn't also say things worthy of punishment, but this is my first punishment in well over a year, for one chat log, and it's a 14 day suspension. That seems a little bit severe, especially considering frankly I wasn't the cause of the problem, though admit I didn't help it any and should have just muted them all.

I thought you first received warnings or chat bans or something? Is this not the case?

It depends entirely on the things that you said. There are some things that are zero tolerance. I have to assume you said something in the heat of the game that you shouldn't have, that you probably didn't think was too bad, but is on that list. Can only know with chat logs.

Depends what you wrote. Severe enough stuff can make someone skip escalation steps. Would it be possible to post the chat logs?

Calling someone a retard, threatening to report, threatening to afk, constantly harassing your mid laner. I'd say ban deserved.

Also, the Tribunal no longer exists. It's a system that bans users unless a manual review is needed.

you threatened to troll/afk. this is likely what led to your escalated punishment the rest is chat ban worthy, but not necessarily worth skipping tiers, except using the word retard, but as far as i know. riot still doesnt consider that "hate speech"
