How is this ban worthy?

So in champ select i have last pick and I am support. I select blitz so my team doesn't ban him. Then the "ADC" takes blitz. No communication. I don't ADC it's the only role I do not play. So I pick a ranged champ I know. Then we get into lane and our blitz adc starts taking the cs. I call for him to get reported (later he even AFKs for a bit. BUT I GET BANNED. For the following chat:

Now I did use two curse words but why have an optional curse filter if profanity is bannable? Plus 90% of league would be banned. WHY IS THIS BAN worthy? I get trolled and banned for it? Really? Maybe i should thank Riot. Maybe cold turkey is the only way to get stop playing this nonsense. If Riot is going to allow trolls to do whatever they want and ban the victims then i hope their company fails once all the victims are gone and all they have left is trolls.

Well, you started off harassing a teammate (troll or not, flaming them or singling them out as a troll isn't going to help the situation.) Report calling and also saying "game is pointless" are, respectively, harassment and very likely giving up.

In-fighting, harassment, and lots of unnecessary negativity, and of course another instance of potentially giving up ("guess it's time to log off"). You really shouldn't tell people that you're going to report them - that's really only going to exacerbate the issue and make them flame you more. You may tell them that you're muting them (I do that rather frequently, some folks on the boards have differing opinions of it though), but you absolutely must mute them when you say you are.

Again; if you're going to report a player, just do it. Threatening to report them does nothing to help you.

Plenty more in-fighting with your team. Honestly, I'm not sure why you didn't mute before this point, because at this point you're being a detriment to the team as a whole, regardless of who all else on it is being bad as well.

And even to the end of the log you spent most of your time bickering with your teammates and slinging unnecessary hate at Blitzcrank. Like, seriously, I don't care if he stole your pick intent, if this is how you react, you're kind of an asshole.

It isn't bannable. You cannot be banned for cursing - omnidirectional swears are asbolutely fine. Buuuuuut......

Levelling it as an insult against someone else is against the rules. Swear all you want, type "shit" "ass" "damn" and "fuck" up and down the aisle (within reason), but at the point where you use it against another player as an insult, you've crossed the line.

This is punish-worthy because you spent most of the game harassing and attacking your teammates. Regardless of whether or not you were trolled, you're expected to carry yourself with a certain composure, and to treat other players with some decency.

Depending on what type of ban it is (14-day, permaban), you likely escalated up from the last tier (25-game chat restrict > 14-day ban, 14-day ban > permaban).

And, before you ask "well why ban players for chat-related offences? why not chat restrict them longer?" - the latter didn't work, and the former is to ensure that toxic players either get the message or get removed. The rules are pretty clear, so there's no reason you should be given an easy time if you continue to ignore them.

If I missed any other important info, do feel free to notify me, but I think this should be a thorough enough explanation to start with.

hi bruh same happens to me i was JG and we had a supp TARIC he stole all my buffs all the game and i ask all chat to report him BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT my chat get banned after this match for 9 games...wtf riot also they post my chats that all i ask to report this support and they called this chat is: UNSPORTSMANLIKE LELELELELELE wtf is this word? this company so dumb to write a program that can recognize this trolers i wish this idiot developers going to be unemployed and get rekt by their shitty life

I'm not going to argue over whether or not the ban was deserved or even why the ban was placed on your account, I just want to pop in to let you know something about reports.

Reports don't stack. The system uses reports as a means to flag a game for review. This means that it only takes one report to flag a player's behavior to be reviewed. Number of reports does nothing to increase the likelihood or severity of a ban. The code does something like this: If (# of reports) > 0 Then (flag game for review). So there is no need or reason to call for others to report a player.

Additionally, if the player did something so obviously trolly, they probably did it to try to get a reaction out of you. So announcing for everyone in the game that you are upset by their actions, and drawing everyone's attention to that player, is actually feeding them the attention and rewards they wanted for it. So calling them out is actually more likely to make them do more things to troll you. You're better off not giving them any indication that it bothered you and then quietly reporting them after the match.

Giving any attention at all to trolls (accusing them of trolling or calling for others to report them) is not helpful to your situation. And if for some reason a player is not trolling, and you mistakenly think they are, do you think it will piss them off if you wrongly accuse them of being a troll? It probably will. So no matter whether the person is a real troll or just mistaken for a troll, calling them out for it will only serve to escalate things and make the situation worse.

As such, Riot does tend to punish people for calling for reports or for accusing others of trolling, because at best your accusation is accurate and it's just feeding a troll's behavior, but at worst it is wrongly accusing someone who is just having a bad game, and is likely to escalate a confrontation and turn the entire chat into an argument.

You get banned for your own behavior. Doesn't matter what others do.

Don't use asking people to report as a jumping off point to start harassing them and flaming them because although asking for the report itself isn't necessarily punishable, the harassing and flaming that comes after it is punishable.

You kept flaming the blitz. Did you have a 14 day ban prior to this?

You don't get punished for swearing. You get punished for flaming and harassing. Riot punishes trolls but it takes longer. Scanning chat is easy to find toxic chat. Screening and watching games takes time.

The lesson isn't that trolls do whatever they want, the lesson is that you shouldn't be flaming your teammates.

dude keep your head up. The downvotes in this room don't represent the majority. We all experiencing the same shit in these games and saying RIOT you are messing up by banning people like this for "toxic" behavior.

Don't worry about it. If you talk you get punished. That's how this game works. I was told by a rioter that if you even come off as bossy even if its not your intent to be if you can be PERCEIVED as bossy you get punished.

Just don't speak in game.

By itself, it isn't ban worthy. But on top of previous punishment, it's negative enough to push you over the edge to a ban.

You're big on reporting, so you should know how the punishment system works by now. But apparently you don't know how it works, since you report for taking CS, you ask for reports, and you're surprised when you get punished.

Are we talking 14 day or permanent? Have you had any previous punishments? (Chat ban or timed ban) TBH all I see here is a little negativity. Did you try swapping champs with him? He might have assumed you would pick the adc he was hovering then swap. No communication of course, but worth a try to assume ignorance over arrogance.

fyi it's not illegal for the support to farm. that fact that he is supposed to let the adc have all the farm is just a formality. as long as he is doing his best to win the game, he is allowed to farm if he wants to. it's not a reportable thing
