Is it toxic to tell toxic players to quiet down?

I've just been chat restricted for a couple games in which I flamed incredibly toxic players for being toxic. This isn't me complaining, it just brought on the question: is that truly toxic to do? I realize the better option is to not confront them and just report them after the game, however, I feel that telling them to stop flaming your allies shouldn't be a reportable offense. Thoughts?

to flame back at the toxics is toxic as well yes. asking them to be quiet or to stop in a calm manner usually is not. i constantly say "can you not" "please cut it out" and stuff like that and i get nothing. but i usually keep the times i say it down to once maybe twice a game.

Depends on how you say it and how often. Theres other people in the game who dont want to hear the infighting. If youre just telling them to stop once or twice, its fine. If half your chat is spamming them telling them to stfu scrub then yeah, that gets to being toxic.
