Will tribunal return?

We’re making a lot of progress with dodgy chat content and the new name filtering service with our automated models, but we do still need you to hit the report button when you see bad shit to help us gather information on what you don’t want to see in League. It really does make a difference.

p.s I love how hes swearing in a post about cleaning up chat. If I could I'd of hit the report button on him just to prove a point.

Some of my views on leagues chat system. Feel free to agree or disagree.

  1. "were making progress" You're not. The system is terrible.

  2. League of Legends rule #2 - Always blame your teammates. The amount of times someone feeds and messes up and then starts blaming someone else and saying to report them in /all happens frequently. So yea its making a difference. Just not the right kind.

  3. It doesnt belong. There is already a chat filter in game. If you don't like swearing. DONT turn the filter off YOURSELF. It comes default on. So if you willingly are turning it off you're acknowledging you dont mind profanity

  4. "report haha" "report for blah blah " kids are in almost every single game. You're not gathering valuable information, you're allowing the vast majority of immature kids to skew the system. Id take the info from a few challenger players over the entire gold and below player base.

  5. You have a mute button. Grow up and use it. You can not "bully" with chat. If you choose to read and reply and continue that is your choice. No one or thing is forcing you. Would be like me writing the title of this as " you must read this you have no choice." You'd all laugh and skip right over it. Get my point? You cant be forced.

  6. Its an online game, that is rated pg-13 with an accompanying adult to make an account.

  7. My final thing. You are NOT helping people rito. You're babying them and sheltering them from the realities of actual life. Just because YOU dont like something doesnt mean it cant or shouldnt exist. You not liking or agreeing with someone else doesnt mean A. you're right and theyre wrong B. That they shouldnt be allowed to express what they want as well.

Get use to freedom of speech. It exists when you leave the basement world.

Freedom of Speech does not mean freedom of consequence.

.1. That is an opinion. You may feel that way, but more probably don't.

.2. The amount of time someone needlessly flames a team mate because they are doing poorly is high too. Blaming the team mate goes both ways; the person doing poorly and the person who has a stick up their ass because someone is doing poorly.

.3. Profanity in of itself is not punishable. Directed profanity as harassment is. There is a difference between "fuck that hurt"/ "fuck!" And "Fucking trash"/"shitty team".

.4. False reports get tossed out and multiple reports in a single game don't matter.

.5. I mean, I would have to have read it in order to skip over it. Yes, a mute button exists. The doesn't give people a free pass to be dicks. You also are conplaining about other verbal issues when you have a mute button. Weird.

.6. The game is rated T for the content it controls. Online interactions are not rated.

.7. My final thing. You aren't helping anyone, random internet person. You are being an ass and belittling people who want to enjoy their free time too. Just because YOU do not like something, doesn't be it can't or shouldn't exist. You not liking or agreeing with someone else doesn't mean: A. You're right and they're wrong; B. That they shouldn't be allowed to express what they want as well.

Huh. Funny how that last point goes both ways.

Nothing wrong with swearing. Swearing at someone is a different story.

Freedom of speech is only related to government actions against your speech; it is unrelated to private entities' actions against you.

Oye, where to start.

  1. You can swear in game, just not directed negatively toward people. Can you be reported for it? Yes. Can you be reported for anything or nothing? Yes. It is simply a button and a check box, nothing stops anyone from clicking them. However, you aren't going to face punishment for ONLY swearing. You seem to suggest otherwise, so proof?

  2. You seem to have realized your error in freedom of speech (which still amazes me as Civics class, which covered it, was a required class in 8th grade for me). However, now you seem to claim it as a general idea of human rights. The "right" to "speak" comes from: functioning vocal cords, hands, being able to hold a writing utensil, eye movement, cheek movement (Rip Hawking).

Is there a certain philosophy or philosopher that you follow that argues speech should have no consequences? Even Hobbes and Mills didn't argue this.

Nah I mean, it's fucking fine to swear. It's not to swear at someone.
