Quick context.

The two players were in a club together and the one said right at game start " sorry my buddy had to leave " I just said all good we can just remake at 3:00. They said they didnt know how so I said Id start it then and we agreed to remake and then Did remake at 3:14. I sat at my top tower chilling til 3:00 to type in the /remake.

I was Darius v Nasus.

Minions dont hit top until 1:40 and even with enemy shoving theyre not going to get to your tower until after 3. ( Kinda excluding champs like taliyah and sol for obv. reasons. ) So laning phase didnt really even start for top lane yet. I checked the footage the wave didnt even crash in before we remade. So for all anyone can tell from my behavior i was simply choosing to tower farm.

Also remember if I go and die we cant remake. So whyyyyy would I expose myself to the risk of a level 2/3 cheese gank.

After the game I got leaver penalty and am now stuck in low queue

If I even WAS "afk" It would of been for a grand total of 1:20 As I walked to lane to get ready just in case.

While I know it seems odd we want player to continue to play the game as normal until the remake triggers as that player could reconnect during that time. Also....ofc I waited under my tower wtf would i be in the middle of the lane before 2'ish minutes..... I mean do you play league..... ( my jungler was starting red bot side )

After being completely pissed off at how flat ridiculous this was i started laughing and playing my x-box. So tired of leagues horrible systems. Basically I was clear and clean headed with the whole games situation. Rl happens were not all 12 with nothing to do. We just agreed to remake and move on and I get penalized for it. Not only was I never afk I also kept it cool and helped my team to do the remake.

Tl:dr. Afk penalty because of one game that was a remake that I was never afk in. Wp rito.

While I feel for you, because this is an extremely one off situation, I think the punishment is right. First, let's not pretend "afk" means the same in league as it would in say a mmo. AFK in league rarely means away from the keyboard, and is mostly used to designate not performing actions helpful to the team. In this case, you were basically "afk" for about 3.15 mins. Walking to lane doesn't stop the timer, you would have to perform some action... attacking a minion, warding, leashing, dmg a champion, etc. Now I know it seems ridiculous because you were going to remake and you ended up remaking. However, what if you hadnt? Then what is the acceptable amount of time one can do nothing? 3:30? 4:00? I believe you that you thought dying would screw up the remake, which was incorrect. All that being said, if I were Riot I would have removed it since this is a scenario that rarely happens.

It doesn't work like that anymore. I've remaked* multiple times after people have died (just silver things).

And yes, the leaver buster has been broken for weeks.

leave buster has evolved to detect various forms of AFK. It used to only really hit people who sat in the fountain but now they also hit people who afk under towers too. So even if you were doing standing still for 1:20, you may have been moving around but not playing the game for 1:40 and hit that AFK trigger and that's not something that player behavior specialists are allowed to remove (or so the FAQ says).
