Why was I permabanned?

Just wondering. I've never even had a 25-game chat restriction on this account. Here's the ONE chat log for my perma ban:

Almost all of this log is just you yelling at, raging at and cussing out your teammates for playing poorly. Being frustrated is fine, but what's not fine is acting like a complete and total jerk because of it. If you wanted to encourage your teammates to perform better than you should have had more comments like these:

And less comments like these:

Zjadis: fuck you Zjadis: stfu Zjadis: i'm farming for late Zjadis: you worthless piece of shit Zjadis: my team is fucking garbage Zjadis: we can't Zjadis: 0/3 Zjadis: you fucktard

Next time if you must rage then do so at the screen and not in the chat.

Now as for why you received a permanent ban here most likely after you got your 14-day ban you stopped playing for a while and when you came back you continued to exhibit poor behavior such as this. Since the only way to drop down punishment tiers is to play games and show consistently sportsmanlike behavior in them the IFS deemed that you still had not improved your behavior and assigned you the next available punishment, which in this case is a permaban. Either that or your case just got escalated due to the overwhelming amount of poor behavior in this log or there's more to the story that you're not telling us here.

If you wish to contest your ban then feel free to write into Riot Support via a Support ticket. That said though, don't expect the punishment to get overturned as this is a very much deserved punishment in every sense of the word. Good luck in your future endeavors.

This single chat log is listed as the reason I got perma banned and puts me in the top .006% of toxic players. I honestly don't remember getting any punishments on this account this season, during which I've played 71 games. How many games have to be played and how much time has to go by before there's a little grace?

It doesn't jive, and the reality is that almost no punishments went out for the entire season, then, as world's was beginning, all these punishments and bans rained down out of nowhere. Why? Idk. I could speculate that there's some sort of monetary reason (end of season bans allow riot to give away fewer rewards, and it gives a player enough time to level up a new account in the off season and start spending money on skins/champs again), but it'd just be speculation.

I mean, it's not like riot has/had a heavy focus on player (customer) psychology and manipulation/grooming of that base (one rioter in particular did experiments with the player base for a dissertation). I'm done feeling like I've gotta play the game just right on the rift, as well as riot's meta game, to be able to climb. Enjoy the kool-aid.

Punishment tiers don't drop down at season's end. Based on my own understanding of the goals of the player reform effort, I would assume that Riot would not want to grant "carte blanche" at season's end. I feel it would be counter productive, especially when the negative behavior appears to culminate at season's end, because people think "Oh, Riot will just reset punishments at the end of the season, so all I need to do is not get permabanned".

Apologies but I have none. I will amend my statement above to reflect this. Based on my own understanding of the goals of the player reform effort, I made the assumption that Riot would not want to grant "carte blanche" at season's end.

Though the average is around 3 or so months there is no exact amount as it all depends on your behavior.

That's just pure coincidence and nothing more. Bans from my recollection are done in waves, so if it seems like allot of punishment threads are popping up out of the blue then that is most likely why.

Rogue employees aside, Riot's job is not to babysit you, but to try to encourage you to behave and interact with others in a neutral or positive manner. That's why they give out occasional rewards for sportsmanlike behavior and also punish those that display unsportsmanlike behavior. You don't have to be all sunshine and rainbows, you just can't be a jerk the moment things go south. If you feel that that is asking too much of you then multiplayer online games are just not for you.

I may have had a 10-game chat restriction at some point (maybe not even this season). That's it. Definitely in the top .006% (as they say) of toxic players.

Edit: Well, I looked at my history, and I did have a 14-day suspension in July of 2016. Lol.

Actually, I just looked at my history, and I had a 14-day ban in July of 2016, almost 1.5 years ago. Nothing that I'm aware of since then.

Yeah...

WHY DID I SKIP RESTRICTIONS? We have a zero-tolerance policy for extreme negative behavior as well as extremely offensive language and remarks made in game towards other players. Since it is a severe disregard for the Summoner’s Code this sort of behavior can result in skipping to a Two week or Permanent suspension. Suspensions of this degree based on negative behavior will not likely be reduced or removed.

I mean, okay, but I experience way worse toxicity than I produced on a regular basis, and those guys are still playing. Does that single chat-log constitute "extreme negative behavior"? Idk, it seems pretty subjective. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that my 30-odd lines of chat in a single game doesn't constitute .006% of the most toxic players in the game. That would put me in league with players like Tyler1. Seriously.

I don't really know or ultimately care why, since I've got more pressing real-world concerns on my plate right now. But it's a pretty sorry state of the game that this sort of thing can take place with impunity. They get no more dollars from me, plus a lot of negative word-of-mouth in my modest circles.
