Hivemind

This board really is one huge hivemind of people that need to develop thicker skin. I mean I'm all for bans when someone is being verbally abusive, racist or homophobic but I'm seeing more and more threads of people getting suspended for really benign things. The worse part about it is you all mindlessly agree with riot no matter what the chat log contains. To many of you it doesn't matter if people ruin the game, troll, intentionally try to get a rise out of people, as long as your feelings aren't hurt you don't see a problem. It's really quite fascinating to see such a consensus on here and I suspect it has something to do with the sheltered millennial generation, where feelings are more important than rational thought or facts. The worst part is you can mute someone who is telling you to play better but you can't stop someone from playing sona jungle and wasting your time. It's sad that you all think the former is worse than the latter.

all that i've seen in the people complaining about their bans is toxic individuals ripping on one or more individuals in the game. Sure it may seem like friendly banter for them, but to the person they're speaking to and form others perspectives it's simply mindless toxicity. If the others in the game believed it warranted a report then chances are it did. People being sensitive isn't an excuse to allow the kind of behavior that gets you banned, that's like saying freedom of speech is an excuse to call people racial slurs, and be okay with it.

This is very clever, OP! Now you can just dismiss everyone who disagrees with you by slapping a simple label on them, without the bother of having to deal with their points or perspectives. What a time-saver!

Look, a lot of people don't read chat logs because it's none of our business. People who go on the forums and complain about bans are complaining for no reason to the wrong people.

They should submit a support ticket if they feel their ban was unjust. How the community feels is wholly irrelevant. Not to mention, how the forums feel is beyond the point. Riot didn't like what the person did, it's their game, their rules, and you agree to this every time you accept their Terms of Service. Aside from that, it's not really that hard to not be toxic. Most of these people having it coming to them, and the chat logs prove it most of the time, whenever I bother to read them.

I do agree that this community does need to stop acting like a bunch of brats, but you have to consider that there are definitely some 8-10 year olds playing the game, and further, people who are older and have the mind set of 8-10 year olds. There's nothing you can really do about it except don't be an asshole. There is a time and place to express your anger towards these people, and it is not in a way that Riot doesn't agree with. At the end of the day, Riot can ban whoever they please, because it's their game, and they're letting you play it for free. You can buy a skin, champion, ward skin, etc with your money if you want to support them, but otherwise you have no obligation to pay them. Thus, Riot has no obligation to bat an eye when someone gets banned because they have a much larger community to keep in check.
