A terrible System

Why is it that the players who react to bad circumstances get banned?

Let me pose an example- my support DC's for the first 3 minutes, no one leashes for me, when they do come back in, my bot lane feeds 9 times in 8 and a half minutes. I try to gank their lane and they dive in before I can even get there (as a Hec), and feed another 2 deaths. 10 deaths before 10 minutes by this point.

So I got a little pissed, especially since I explicitly asked them to play defense and not initiate. Of course im the bad guy now, and they demand reports. Whatever. I was pretty salty for the rest of the match, as you can imagine.

AFter I calmed down, I started thinking...,maybe im playing with a couple 8 year olds or something. Maybe I am in the wrong. Well, turns out, they were minors. That just begs the question though- Why are there not separate servers for adults? This game is inherently competitive, and its marketed as such, yet you expect people to not get heated at all? With this ridiculous matchmaking system that CLEARLY needs work and balancing? You dont even have ELO or any kind of placement in norms, and you expect competitive people to act like Mr Rogers? You expect people to totally remain calm when they get this kind of shit game after game after game?

Now im serving a 14 day suspension. Not the guy who dc'ed, or intentionally fed bot lane nearly 20 times. Me, the guy who said something about it.

Its like getting poked with a cattle prod and getting punished when you smack it out of the guys hand poking you.

For a multi billion dollar game, these issues are pretty silly.

So basically your blaming your verbally abusive negative attitude , lack of emotional control and no anger managements skills on Riot, the game and other players instead of yourself .

and on top of that you are letting a mere video game change your emotional state and send you into a rage and again blaming that on other players , Riot and the game...instead of yourself

pretty much sums up your post right ?

If youre going to try to crackdown and censor your players THAT hard in a competitive scene, people are going to leave

" saying its competitive" is in no way any sort of excuse or defense. YOU are responsible for your own actions a and emotions ...not the game riot other players matchmaking or anything else

So because you got pissed at people, you are allowed to flame them?

This is less about the system being terrible and more how your behavior being terrible. Maybe you are the 8 years old in this scenario. You wouldn't get banned if you didn't flame or retaliate.

Don't flame people. It's incredibly straightforward.

Sometimes players suck, but it's a fucking game. You aren't in the trenches with them. Deal with loss in an emotionally mature fashion in future matches.

Because age does not directly correspond to A: maturity, B: skill at the game, C: desire to troll, or D: willingness to put up with trolling.

Normal games also have an MMR system like that in Ranked -- it's just not visible.

The part hitting you, however, is that you are NOT entitled to treat someone poorly just because they're not doing well.

Look, I understand the concept, and its alright in a decent matchmaking system. Matchmaking is terrible and leads to terrible games, which leads to a flaming community.

Ive been chatbanned for asking people to play defensively. I was chatbanned because one person on my team didnt think the early game (friendly) banter our teams were having was "appropriate", even though there was nothing malevolent about it. Ive been chatbanned for the dumbest reasons, yet Ive been called literally the MOST derogatory, homophobic, and racist things in this game. I didnt report that because im not a giant baby. Im a grown man.

If youre going to try to crackdown and censor your players THAT hard in a competitive scene, people are going to leave. It would be easy to solve with a server that wasnt censored. I played this game almost 3 years ago and the censorship was nowhere near this level.
