Giving Up

I notice that under "greifing" I believe, in the description it says "giving up". Does this mean I can report me teammates for forfeiting and not trying? Last game the enemy jinx was like 8-1 and my entire team just gave up and waited until 20 minutes to surrender. I was doing alright top as malphite and thought we definitely still had a chance cause jinx was the only one doing well. Can I report my teammates in this scenario? It's not very fun playing and doing well only to have your team forfeit the game and you have no say really.

This might not go over well to explain it but I am pretty sure giving up would only apply if 3 or less teammates have decided to give up and not play.

The reason I say this is because no matter what they did if 4 people decide to end the game at 20 minutes and they surrender while the other person on the team does not want to it doesn't matter because the majority can surrender.

I am not 100% sure of that though it just makes sense in hindsight to me because giving up and surrendering are similar to some extent.

Since I am not sure either way I say report them to be safe. At the very least a team should be trying their hardest until 20 minutes to see if they have a chance to win if they give up before that it is unfair to the player that is actually trying but after 20 mins they are free to surrender.

Giving up is indeed a reportable offense, but it may be harder to prove if players don't actually go AFK during the game and instead just start running around doing nothing or trolling. If they stay active in the game and just aren't trying they'll still be getting exp and gold, which makes it harder to tell apart players who are actually trying and those that have given up.

I'd still report them and explain what they were guilty of, but that doesn't mean the report is going to carry any weight at all because it's something that is nearly impossible to prove if they don't actually quit playing the game and chill in the fountain until it's over.
