Why can't I remake after 3 minutes?

Am I the only one who is wondering why you can't remake after 3 minutes? I ran into 2 games (that's a lot already) this week where this feature would have been useful. I understand that riot states "After the three-minute mark, the game’s considered a game of record and /remake will not be an option. This shields the integrity of individual games, ranked queues, and W/L records." Only problem is, I don't get it. Isn't the "integrity" of a game already ruined when there is an afk; no matter what time the player decides to book. So what integrity is there to shield? The feeling of someone quitting after the 3-minute mark feels just awful, as you know that you have to deal with a losing game for 17 more minutes and then suffer the undeserved lp loss. It's as if /remake didn't exsist.

Can someone explain to me on what this 3-minute limitation is for with a clearer explanation than riots'?

If a game starts to look bad around 4 minutes, 5 minutes, then a player can take one for the team and AFK to prevent his/her teammates from losing LP.

There are many valid reasons I've seen that would stop Riot from allowing us to remake past 3 minutes. What Wuks mentioned is one.

However, one of the biggest reasons that I believe Riot won't do this is because it gives a very big incentive to start being toxic and verbally abusive towards your teammates. Once one team starts losing, it gives an incentive for 4 players on that team to start harassing and verbally abusing the 5th player (probably the one who is doing the worst score wise) to get them to leave the game. Then the remaining 4 players could remake the game and be rewarded for their toxic behavior by not losing LP.

Now sure, Riot could and would punish the toxic players who did this, but I'm pretty sure Riot would rather avoid having those players be toxic in the first place.
