At what point can I be loss prevented for this?

I couldn't really report any of the players because being "bad" is not a reportable offense, and maybe my frustration should be aimed at how the match was made? I just need to know if there is a point at which you can get loss prevented in ranked for having spectacularly unbalanced games.

I get into lobby and my teammates are hovering various champions. Looking at all the champions I ask if anyone would switch to more tank or cc heavy champions to round out the team. No one wants to switch to more utility champions, so I go the rather unconventional Cho'gath mid to try and bring as much cc and tank to the table as I can. Then the game starts...

Now normally in ranked games I have no problem with people ignoring team comp in favor of a comfort pick, my hope being that it is a sign that they have some knowledge or skill with that champion to compensate. This game I did NOT get that usual return on investment. Nearly every lane lost (I was holding ground). I attempted to help my teammates, but they had fallen behind too rapidly. Needless to say the game ended comically fast...

As the game went into its rapid death spiral, all of my teammates gave up hope of winning. I finished the game with 100% kill participation, which would be great if the score wasn't 3/+20. One teammate was 0/10 by the end of the game (with a little help of some giving-up feeding). All in all an incredible case of an epic cascading failure.

In my opinion players have a right to be "bad" and goof around, and I have no problem with that. However, when I play RANKED I expect a certain level of competence from the people I'm playing with. Maybe I just happen to catch teammates in a bad mood, or maybe the match making system made an error. My question is, at what point can you be loss prevented for having a poor team? or what can be done to prevent these sorts of games from happening?

My message to anyone caught in this situation:

  1. Keep as good a defense as you can
  2. Try not to get angry at your fellow players
  3. Buy yourself time, and never give up! 1 good play can change everything!

The loss prevented system was designed for games where all players are affected due to server issues. If the problem isn't a server-wide issue then you likely won't see loss prevented on your games.

Some games players are willing to cooperate with you and your team usually ends up doing well, other times they just don't and it messes up the game. It really depends on your luck so nothing really can be done other than trying to make the best out of your situation.
