question about honor/ban

i received a 14 day ban while being toxic free for over a year and although i know i deserve the ban and am unbanned in a few days i have a question.

In my ban notice it said my honor level dropped which i assume is referring to the new system. I was banned many days before it came out on the 28th, so why is my honor level already dropped?
