I was given a 10-minute delayed queue for 5 games for being disconnected... from a bot game

Whenever I start up League, I like to test out my ping in a bot game. After all, it's just bots, it'll be fine whatever happens. So I queue up with a buddy for fun.

Unfortunately I found that my internet wasn't being very cooperative tonight, and not only was my ping not consistent, I eventually outright disconnected from the match and was unable to properly reconnect in a playable state. I leave to try and solve the internet issue for the next match we try.

So eventually the game ends without me. Of course, I don't get any rewards for completing the match, which is fine. I wasn't there, I don't deserve the rewards. However, I'm also slapped with a Leaverbuster, and have a delayed queue for 5 games. When we queue up for another try at a bot game, we find that the queue delay is 10 minutes each match.

Now my issue is that I cannot understand why I, or to be honest, anyone, would receive such a punishment, especially one so long, for disconnecting from a bot game, the same mode where a bot remains in fountain when one person disconnects. I would understand if I disconnected from a PvP match, or worse Ranked, but this was just a quick beginner bot match, I shouldn't be punished for leaving such a thing.

cos you not being there still ruins the experience for 4 other people.

Leaving is leaving, it doesn't matter which game mode it is.

Since the bots remove bots based off players leaving, I am not sure there should be punishments for people leaving. Good point

just test your ping in a custom or training mode.
