🔒 RIOT your ban/suspension system sucks

I have been suspended for 14 days. I am a repeat offender. I am not contesting the suspension. What I am contesting is the reasoning. In the 3 total games that the chat messages were linked for my suspension, the worst thing I said was YOU IDIOTS DESERVE THIS LOSS. I have never called someone racial, homophobic or other slurs. In 2 of the 3 games, there was a player on my team being SUPER toxic to myself and other teammates and I was reacting to their garbage, but I STILL didn't say anything that warrants a 14 day suspension. I get what you guys are trying to do, but what I don't get is how the trolls who have racist names, called people racist and other slurs, don't get insta-banned, but I get a 14 day suspension for calling people idiots. I have played this game since almost the beginning and I have not seen the player attitudes get one drop better even after all your bullcrap pre-game messages about friendly players performing better. I see the same stupid trolls every other game. Had one quit earlier today because a teammate flashed to KS him. So he just rage quit a ranked game. After intentionally feeding and talking trash of course. Maybe you guys should put some effort into your banning/suspension system. Ranked play gets heated. People are going to say stupid things. Stupid things should not result in a 14 day suspension. CONSTANT flaming and racial/homophobic/other slurs should result in suspensions/bans. It's an online game. People are going to say bad words and call each other idiots once in a while when they are frustrated. Stop making it more than it is.

TL:DR - I was wrong. I got suspended. The ban/suspension system makes things out to be way worse than they are. It's stupid.

It's less about the severity and more about the consistency that you do it. Sure you can get banned immediately for extreme toxicity such as hate speech or death threats, but minor offenses will stack up and eventually result in a punishment if you keep doing it. Just because it is minor doesn't mean it's ok.

Just because you're not AS toxic as other people doesn't mean you arn't toxic. The Summoner's Code says THOU SHALT NOT BE NEGATIVE so "YOU IDIOTS DESERVE THIS LOSS" is absolutely banworthy.

Kinda with WTFGuysICaldMid, If you are that concerned with chat and tip toeing around peoples feelings in a GAME then you need to also start banning accounts for offensive names which I see all to often. My feelings are hurt in game because I have to play with a dude named PermaFeeD etc. and if I don't then I have to take a point loss regardless how minimal and it affects my game play. Unacceptable I demand justice.

I honestly think they should just take the chat system out of this game. The only time people chat is to talk trash or flame or say something dumb at the start of the game. Deep, I definitely agree with you. I do it way too much, but I have never trolled someone for a whole game or nonstop. I will say, 'That was a stupid ass play' or something like that. Is it right? No. Is it extreme? No. Does it deserve a ban? Hell no. Permanent ban me from chat, but banning me from the game entirely for 2 weeks isn't going to change who I am. It just pisses me off. It's not about how much money I've spent or how many GOOD games I've played. It's just that I said someone was an idiot 3 times over a week period. I've genuinely been LIGHTYEARS better behaved since I got my chat ban. I've been trying to be a good teammate and not bitch. I climbed from Bronze 3 to Gold 1 over the last few days. You don't do that by flaming your team. This was extreme and stupid. Riot wants a community of 9 year olds that don't say swear words or mean things. That isn't the gaming community. 5 minutes on Call of Duty will show you that.

You're completely right, morally speaking. Riot has no right to ban and suspend so many people because some of their player base are over sensitive, over grown toddlers with severe allergic reactions to certain combinations of letters. It is sickening, the way league continues to promote this baby-fied system of punishing anybody who dares to speak. I actually got an e-mail from riot saying I should "mute everybody or risk my account being punished."

The solution as a player, as an individual, is simple. When you get into a game, EVERY GAME, no matter WHAT you hope or think might be said in terms of team communication, type /mute all. Keep their pings visible so you can see pings, but mute chat completely. Never say ANYTHING, not even GG or GJ or WP or ANYTHING, because when the report goes in they only read YOUR chat log, not the log for the entire game. They will ban you, just as an example, for answering a question asked to you, if upon reading the transcript later it looks like you said something negative. For example, my last 14 day suspension quoted a game wherein a player joined, trolled the hell out of everybody, spamming and macroing and being a troll in other peoples lanes. He was premade with a clan mate, and the clan mate said "he acts this way because he is special."

All I said was "special with a capital R?" and riot decided it was worth a 14 day suspension. The whiny, prepubescent, virgin eared player base of league is too sensitive, weak minded, weak willed, and pathetic to handle certain combinations of our alphabet. This isn't a problem you'll see in Korea or other Asian countries for example. ONLY in North America are the players such CRY BABY CHILDREN they have to whine to their riot mommy to ban people who said mean things to them on the internet. The bans and suspensions are just a symptom of an underlying disease, which is that we promote whiners and weak minded children and enable them (through systems such as this one) to feel vindicated when they whine and cry to somebody they consider an authority figure.

TL DR; don't buy into the lies and hype riot tries to spew about communicating and working as a team. Mute EVERYBODY on your team and communicate 100% with pings and macros ONLY. DO NOT TYPE ANYTHING. EVER. AT ALL. Or you "risk your own account being punished" as per Deme Lovato and their quote to me in an e-mail

Deme Lovato here - covering for Hana. It's literally not worth the time or effort to acknowledge or even engage with these players and risk your own account getting punished. In the future, I would encourage you to simply mute these players, move on, and report them at the end of the game as that brings them to our attention and closer to punishment.

I don't believe you. Show me the chat logs, let's see if that's the worst thing you said. Don't edit them either, screenshots and text, let's see it.

I am a repeat offender.

And just like in real life, that is something that is considered when determining your next punishment. Stealing an apple is no big deal... unless you're on probation.
