A second chance?

DesertSummoner·9/8/2016, 3:17:00 PM·2 votes·1,118 views

Greetings.

My name is Desert Summoner and I got permanently banned 2 weeks ago for verbal abuse. I didn't realize how bad it was until i couldn't log in. I have received some temp - bans and mutes in the past. But I never would have expected to reach the stage of perma-banned. I always thought that was for either cheaters, dupers etc. People who actually internally temper with or harm the mechanics of the game.

I am making this thread to deeply apologize for if any of my flaming has offended anyone and for not complying with the summoner's code. I am also here to ask of something. Please, Riot. You can take away all my LP, You can perma - mute me so i never verbally abuse anyone. Just please let me be able to play the game. I have invested far too much money and time into my account. I understand now that one can be permanently banned for excessive flaming. So perma - mute me. Why kick me out of the game? You could stop all this by a perma-mute. A perma-ban is just over board.

Like others have said you already had your second chances. You even said so yourself that you had numerous chat restrictions and temp bans. Those are you chances, and most people learn just from chat reatictions alone. So I'm not sure why you think you need more chances.

All in all its good you learn your lesson. It's sad that you had to learn the hard way. Also note that they have tried "perma-muting" or at the very least an indefinite chat reatictions in the past and it never works. People will just find other ways to get their point across usually by a means of trolling or intentionally losin the game. They don't want it to escalate to that and would rather permaban when you finally hit the final tier in punishment!

You got bans in the past, you didn't stop being toxic, you got more bans, and now perma banned. Start a new account, they won't reverse a perma ban.

That was your second chance. More accurately, it was your 4th chance. The current system has a 4-step punishment ladder, and each successive punishment moves you up to the next rung until you hit the 4th, which is the permanent ban. You mention previous restrictions and a temporary ban; if you read the popups that came up when you logged in to those punishments, they described some of the system, and warned you that this next punishment would be a permanent ban.

Unfortunately, you blew this last chance. You're welcome (not actively encouraged, but still allowed) to create a new account and try again, but there's nothing you can do to get access to this one again, not if the ban was handed out with a valid reason.

Start a new account, it's really easy to be sorry after you get punished, if you won't flame then make a new account and don't flame and this time it won't be banned.

What do you mean 'second chance'? you had like 5 chances/warnings. Your second chance is to restart your account and turn a new leaf; Change your ways and show Riot you are a new man.

I always thought that was for either cheaters, dupers etc. People who actually internally temper with or harm the mechanics of the game.

First of all, you were speciifcally warned that a permaban was on the way, so do not lie.

Second, I agree with you, in most games being rude only results in chat restrictions or possibly even a suspension in extremely egregious and continous cases.... however Riot seems to think "Toxicity" is something that matters rather than... say... intentional feeding or afking. I STRONGLY disagree with their stance but I am not Riot and I don't get to decide what matters and what doesn't.

I'm with you. I am constantly scared of getting a perma-ban on my account. I have $950+ invested in this account. I find flaming to be an idiotic rule considering the fact that there is a mute button in the game. A perma-mute would be much more appropriate.

If you didnt get the message when you got temp banned, then you deserve to have been permabanned. A few things to note, by the time you get temp banned, you should already have gotten a in game chat restrictions, which serve to show "Yeah... This kinda needs to stop"... You said that "I didn't realize how bad it was until i couldn't log in. I have received some temp - bans and mutes in the past." So, from there you should have realized how bad your flaming/toxicity was from the temp ban(s). Also, riot doesn't really care how much money or time you put into their game. You could spend 1 million dollars, and they would still treat you like anyone else. Personally, I believe in second chances, so I do think you should get one, however, being realistic and knowing Rito a bit, they likely wont. The only time someone gets un-permabanned is if either a riot member made a mistake, and or the program/bot/system made a mistake. Sorry to hear that you got banned, if you want to get back into the game, your best bet would be to make a new account, and not spend money. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the day.

It's not a second chance. You've already went through multiple chances. You don't deserve it. Stop complaining. You don't get to.

The amount of money and time you spend is irrelevant. You're not playing/paying for ban immunity.

And no, they don't and shouldn't permamute you instead. You deserved a permanent account ban and that's what you got.

Hello there,

It seems like your main account got permanently banned from League Of Legends.I can understand your current frustration but after all you are the one that brought your account in this state. From my knowledge,I believe that getting permanent-ban for verbal abuse is rare. This implies that you continuously used inappropriate language.

Question : Did you get previously any kind of temporary ban?

To conclude,I believe that everyone deserves a second chance(especially if they got permanent-ban without any previous warning),but if you got banned temporary and you did not reformed then there are no excuses in my opinion.

Lots of people are saying the cliche "Make a new account"

The whole purpose for this post is to make it a win/win situation. If riot decides to unban my account but perma - mute. This would be great because:

  • Riot will still have one player who devotes time and money into the game.
  • And I will not be able to flame regardless.

But if i were to create another account.

  • Chances are i would have nothing to lose and no restriction. So I would probably continue to rage at afkers and flame.

Its simple logic. One solution makes more sense. Whilst the other doesn't solve anything but just further creates a bigger problem. Why is it so hard for the simple minded to understand?
