Removing Chat From League of Legends (for the better?)

Removing Chat

Lets be real, the league of legends community is probably one of the saltier of the gaming communities out there. To improve this infamous reputation I propose that a game mode (similar to Summoners Rift 5v5 and others) should be made without any chat; or maybe a better solution is pre-written chat that you could chose from to communicate e.g. "Drag in x minutes", "ward x spot", "group x" etc.

Too many people rage in chat which takes away from what I/we enjoy most about League of Legends. So for those who don't rage and grief (and would like to focus on gameplay without unnecessary distractions) could play the modes without the manual chat.

Now I understand that you can report at the end of the game, but why not make it so we don't have to report or at least mitigate the chances...? Just a thought...

Riot, I hope to see something like this soon.

What do you guys think?

I try to call out as many summoners as I can (still a work in progress), not to mention calling out Dragon in 45 seconds or ult timers. I think removing chat is just an all around bad idea. Not to mention, just because they can't chat, doesn't mean they won't just feed out of spite anyway. I'd rather them vent in chat than just feed. If they vent in chat, I can mute them.

This is like saying we should outlaw hammers because too many people hit their thumb instead of the nail.

Chat is a tool, it's on players to decide how they'll use that tool. I've seen players use it to help teammates avoid tilting, get advice on items, etc. I've seen enemies use it to help make the game more enjoyable, commenting about how you almost beat them, giving advice for a champion you're not familiar with, etc.

Getting rid of chat completely would be a massive mistake, and would only make the game feel worse to play.

Nah...I'm a chatty type...

Even tho some of the best/funnest games I have had is when not one of us said a single thing (pregame too), I'd still like to say something if I have the inclination to.

Or, people could just not be toxic, and we could keep chat. And if people are toxic, that's their problem, not everyone else's, and they get punishments as needed, like the current system does.
