Why is talking shit to the enemy team bannable?

I love talking shit to the enemy team! Seeing them tilt makes me so happy! Why am I not allowed to do it?

It doesn't hurt anyone on my team, my team plays well because the enemy team is so tilted! As their mental state goes down, my win rate goes up! :>

Because you're not supposed to be enjoying the game at other player's expense. **Which is against the Summoner's Code. Which is suggested to be followed by the Term of Use in Code of Conduct. Negative attitudes are treated accordingly. **

Being positive doesn't only mean your team but in general. So if you're going to be an asshole, expect to be treated as one.

Competitive bming is fine to an extent. If you start saying shit like "You're trash", "Uninstall", "Never play x champ again", etc. That's just downright being toxic. Something along the lines of "Nice flash" or "?" is tolerable I think.

However, I can't stand when people bm in normals, like are you that proud and happy to be winning a normal game? Especially because in normals people are trying out new champions or roles, and it's mostly used as a learning tool. Ranked I can understand why, it's a competitive environment but still don't cross the fine line.

You can, as long as it isn't the goal to antagonize them. So something like

Fiddles:(Right before ulting) "Caw caw motherfuckers!"

Spotting the enemy Elise; "The itsy bitsy spider went in the river." (best if spotted by scuttle vision.)

EnemyCassiopeia : "Snake? Snake!? Snaaaaaaaaake!"

Good hearted things. Besides, you don't need to type much to tilt. Could just do the "?" thing in all.

Form of gloating. Against Riot's Code of Conduct.

Considered as the following : Harassment (Section 5, Article 3), Transmitting or communicating any content which, in the sole and exclusive discretion of Riot Games, is deemed offensive, including language that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar(assuming it's vulgar because your title contains "talking shit"), obscene, sexually explicit, or racially, ethically, or otherwise objectionable (Section 5, Article 5),

If you're doing something because it gives your team a direct in-game advantage then I think that's fine. For example ganking a lane repeatedly to get your ally fed.

But if you're doing it for the express purpose of increasing the enemies suffering and just because you think it is funny to see their reactions (for example ganking repeatedly solely because the enemy player is complaining in all chat about being camped, and taunting them for it).... then you don't belong in an online competitive game. Shit like that gets players carded and kicked off the field in real-world competitive sports. You shouldn't act like such an ass.

I agree, back in the 90s talking shit was probably the most enjoyable part of the gaming experience. Riot should create two league of legends. One for safe zone kiddies, and the other for people with spine XD

I believe Morello was the one who said there was a fine line between trash talking and flaming/harassing and that trash talking isn't punishable while flaming and harassing are.

Anyone else remember that video?
