I'm disappointed

Hi Boards, Hi hopefully a Rioter,

(TL;DR down below)

in the end of december I reported a player via the riot support, because he intentionally fed and we all know the current report system is not that good at detecting that. I made a video of him feeding and send it to the support and got the answer, that they too think, that was feeding.

Now to the part why I'm disappointed: he's still playing/played the whole time without stop, which means he didn't even get a 2 week ban. He actively ruined the game for others and maybe got a 25 games chat restriction if even. That's bugging me quite alot, because people, who throw around racial slurs and such, get an instant 2 week ban, while they probably/maybe play the game "normally" and those who actively ruin the games for others get a chatbann.

That's a big flaw the system to me, because player, who ruin the game for others, should be punished by not being allowed to play and those, who use abuse the chat to flame others, should be chat restricted. I'm not saying flamers should "only" get chatbanns, there should be a point, where they get banned for their behavior, too, but player who ruin the game for others should be banned and not chat restricted.

TL;DR Make Punishments more individual (again): Punish trolls with banns and flamer with more/longer chat restrictions.

because riot doesn't give a shit about legitimate trolls. they care about people that say mean words :'(

Riots system is such a flaw and the horrible terms of service is much crappier. anyway.

the way riot likes to scam people is giving people bans for talking while doing nothing to people who ruin the game and the experience... "im riot and im offended by what your saying to other people in the game" "im a summoner in league and i dont care what you say to me but ill give you a report anyway"

riot support is so bad that the support back in 2013 was so much better and more helpful, these days riot just wants to give a reason what you did and make a new account. but look players cant win unless we rebel it out and fight like a team against riot to do something about the bans on people account for talking to each other. no matter what we say.

ban people who script or hack but give chat bans to people who talk alot or be rude to each other and then increase the chat bans (instead of giving an account ban (useless)) but if people feed while they are on a chat ben then give a 14day ban not this bullshit perma ban.

Well, I can't tell you why he wasn't given a 14 day suspension. I can tell you that he wasn't given a 25 game chat restriction. Intentionally feeding does not utilize chat restrictions. Gameplay offenses (feeding/trolling/etc) begin with a first offense 14 day suspension. A second offense from there, whether it is another gameplay offense, or a chat related one, is a permaban. I can also tell you that it was highly, HIGHLY unusual for the Support Specialist to tell you that a punishment would be issued. It's against Riot's policy for Support to discuss any actions taken against players with other players. It violates player privacy and should never happen. I've had quite a few conversations with Support Specialists, some have been incredibly vague ("we'll look into this, and see if something needs to be done, but be aware that we cannot discuss the details of any punishments with you...") while others have been a bit more direct ("oh wow, I definitely agree that's hardcore hate speech. I just have to let you know that I can't talk about any punishments or anything because of patient privacy"), but they have always made a point of saying that they could not discuss the details with me. To the point where now, I usually put a line in my initial ticket saying that I'm already aware that they can't discuss the details, so I'm not gonna ask.

I know it's really disappointing when you see something like this that seems to "slip through the cracks." Especially when it's something that has directly ruined one of your matches. It would be awesome if Riot had enough people that they could have someone manually review the report for intentionally feeding and trolling, but it's honestly not feasible. The main reason for that is the same reason that the FeederBuster system is having trouble. The overwhelming number of false reports on intentionally feeding has made it impossible to get the manpower to manually review them, as well as making it hard to tune the system accurately. Just to give you an example, here are two quote from Riot Tantram regarding why it's hard to maximize the efficiency on FeederBuster right now.

I looked at your report history. You report someone for feeding in LITERALLY every game you play.

Feeding is intentionally ruining the game for others by giving up kills in an effort to give the enemy an advantage, not having a bad game. I'm not entirely certain you are characterizing feeding correctly.

If you want the system to correctly identify your feeding reports, you need to stop reporting people for feeding who are not feeding.

Don't read into it:-).

All reports have the same value and all trigger a review.

But if, as a community, you want feeders to be held accountable. It is in everyone's best interest to accurately report and make sure others do the same. It's hard to argue that the person you reported for feeding didn't get penalized when you report people for feeding who aren't. We do our best to create accurate models and detection methods, but it sure makes our job a lot harder when the signals are dirty. This is why intentional feeding is such a hard problem to solve.

Because he isn't the only one who is int feeding , banning trollers will take a long time and it will remove a huge number of players , I don't think they are ok with that

I was upset and said, "tinhead" and 2 week ban LOL . yet some games before a guy was trolling so hard and feeding and then his build was trolly. I posted it on boards and not one rioter said anything about it. so yea the system is flawed and not one dev or rioter can say other wise. they just copy and paste bogus stuff they've been told too.
