What if someone threatens to report you?

I am new to the game, but i prolly know how to play. I am not a noob, nor a pro either, and i searched for a topic covering this, but couldn't find one, so i apologize if this was already replied somewhere.

My question is, what if someone threatens to report you for no reason, (or lets say bad decision). Would i get banned? When you play, you have two options, to win or to lose, either of those two. There may be bad plays, bad decisions and afks that might decide the end game result, but you can either win or lose.

For an example, i was the jg in a game, and i know that most of the time, jg gets all the blame for not ganking/helping, i was busy taking blue and the mid laner got killed by an assassin (which takes about less than 10 seconds to kill and not enough time to reach and chase the opponent). What happened next? i couldnt gank, i dont have super speed rockets attached to my champs to get anywhere (i was playing Warwick). Warding should not be my only job besides i can ward 3 times not 30. Game went down hill from there, he threatened me that he will report me, and prolly did, we lost the game, i didnt get a ban but prolly will soon . (this happened a few hours ago)

The very next game, i was the support. What's a role of a support? First is to protect your adc, second is to poke others and denying them from farming, i would think i did a good job getting my adc to 6/0/0 score , and me 0/0/7 (+1 for helping the jg take kill). I asked the adc to go back and go take some weps, because thats what you normally should do after you get 6 kills and 1 and 1/2 tower (the second tower was half its health). why would i ask to buy weps? because the more weps you buy the more chance you will survive, plus its wise not to let them get fed, pretty much common sense. He didnt buy, got ganked and got killed. (obviously if the bot towers are the only ones taken and ur deep into their area you will get ganked.) So far its all good. Then i suggested something, and he replied that "do i need to listen to you? look at my score", to which i replied "yeah no need to listen to your support when he saved you multiple times" .. plain sarcasm, i get it, but he replied, "yeah i dont need your help, you suck anyway" plus other mean stuffs, etc, and feeded (not intentionally tho, but without support and cc you cant get that far". Game ended in a defeat again, and i was prolly reported, when i was being nice first, and i had a sportsmanship behavior. I wont call him toxic, this was a mild issue but he prolly reported me.

In future i am guessing ill get more reports for no reason, is there any way to stop this? i mean i could remain silent the entire game and carry the game with 30 kills and 5 deaths (as a carry) and still get reported because someone in either team didnt just like me, or just wanted to ruin my day. If i get banned, ill honestly be sad, but what can i do? Stop playing? i mean if i get reported either way (if i play good or bad) what would be the point of playing and getting champs and ips?

i am pretty much sure i got reported as sona because my score was 10/5/26 and my adc was 9/something/12 (even when we won the round). Okay i get it support should never get kills but i cant allow them with 10 health to go past me . . . (when i am alone).

I can answer the primary question;

No, false reports won't hurt you. The system is designed to toss them out, and those people will lose weight in their future reports.

Threatening to report, or asking to mass report a player, is a punishable offense though. If they do that, just ignore them and report it. If you've done nothing wrong then you're going to be fine.

Honor is removed if you receive any behavoral punishment (one in which the notice/email mentions Tribunal, an audit of your chat logs, or mentions trolling behavior such as intentional feeding), so a 10-day chat restriciton would reset your honor count to 0,

As far as the time, yes, it's roughly 3 months of regular play without further punishments to drop 1 tier.

And as an FYI: The "You've been reported" popups are not considered part of the punishment tiers. They simple provide a heads up if you've gotten a spike in reports against you. However, if you find you are regularly seeing the warnings, you might want to check your behavior against what is generally considered acceptable.

Someone who reports you for how you play (jungling, taking the kills as a support, etc.) has no valid reason to report you if you're not straight up intentionally running to the enemy to give them free kills all the time. From then on you're safe provided you don't flame them back, the reports will be deemed false alarms.

How do you know if you have been reported or how many reports are in your history?
