How fast does one get Honor lv 3?

Just reached lv 20 yesterday and upon logging in today i got Honor lv 3.

I was wondering how does the Honor System work as i only tend to play 1-3 matches per day.

That seems to be the "basic go with the flow rate." I play a few matches a day and just got mine.
