Ok so I am an adc main in bronze 1. I read all these posts about how people are pissed off that they are getting stuck with teams that have trolls and afks and just plain bad players. I can understand their pain (I was in low bronze a while back too), but i think that in higher bronze and low silver (my elo) those kinds of players are virtually non-existent, and have been replaced by something I think is a lot worse than any troll, afk, or bad team. Smurfs. Smurfs have complete control of every game they play. They decide who wins, who loses, who dies, who lives, what kind of game will be played, how long it is, etc. Smurfs influence exactly what happens in every game they play because of their experience, I've met talons who play for kills, stall the game for as long as possible, then sit back and watch my team kill their base, twisted fates who get 20+ kills then slowly kill my team with rotation play, Lee Sins who play aggro and then spend the game carrying their team as they decide who they want to win, then let us kill them and lose, basically smurfs do what they want, and I think it ruins a lot of games. So what can I do, is it just something I live with, do I just need to suck it up and stop being a baby? I'm willing to live with the problem I'm basically just curious do other people have this problem as well? Is there some special trick you can do to deter smurfs? Is riot already looking for a solution to this? Is there a solution already? This is not a flame post I'm just presenting a theory about something I think is a problem and looking for any input whatsoever, whether in support of my theory or not. Thanks guys I would really appreciate your thoughts.

The only way to deal with smurfs is being better than the smurfs.

I don't know about you, I'm in the same ELO, I didn't see any smurfs in my past 20 games.

Its not as rampant as you think.

Sure some times there are troll people that will make the game much harder than it needs to be. Actual "smurfs" are rare though.

As for overcoming "smurfs": I find it tends to be just a mental block. Play your best and see what happens.

Hi, at the start of the season I was also stuck in bronze 1 and I discovered a rather disgusting thing about these smurfs. That is that a lot of them are not, but are stuck on an attitude problem. They are the type of person that goes 2/20 one game and 20/2 in the next. They often get a high sense of self worth ruining games by trowing their own wins and tell themselves that if they didn't trow it they would be silver already.

I am currently in silver 2 and those players slowly start to thin out. As for how to deal with them: simply don't answer to them if they are in your team, let them boil in their own piss instead of wasting your own. They will most likely trow in a game where someone critiques his "devine holyness" attitude. If they say things like push mid, just go with it so they don't start to get tilted because they don't get push management.
