There really needs to be a more efficient way to ban...

League of Legends Match History

There really needs to be some changes in the banning system, because the way the current ban system is, players aren't afraid of griefing, harassing, afk'ing. etc... Just taking a look at my recent match should prove sufficient evidence as to how players actually feel about the ban system. Why should players who actually put there time in to playing the game be punished by those whom see fit to smite cleanse top and afk? I put what little free time I have after work everyday to bettering myself as a player and climbing the ranks. I'm not going to sit here and beg for my LP back, because what good would that do for bettering the game. To sympathize with most players, being a lower elo player, it really makes the grind and even bigger struggle. Please hear me out and implement more chat restricts and more temp bans. I'm not looking for players to be perm banned because they had a bad game and said some stupid things. There is always room for improvement in the banning system to make it more efficient and little more strict to keep players in check. Would love to see or hear back on others thoughts and opinions on the issue.

Thing is, making a system to detect feeders, that can distinguish between intentional and unintentional feeding is near impossible. Riot can't manually review every match, and so needs the process to be automated. I would be surprised if this system does not implement some machine learning so over the years it will get better.

That said even for humans it can be hard to detect intentional feeding sometimes so the system will have an even harder time, so we must assume every player to be innocent until proven guilty. In your case though, it seems to be trolling but we can't set the system to punish it automatically without near-human level judging abilities. If we did, alot of players going off meta builds would be punished, which is not ok.

The system used is likely very advanced so you have to think about that everytime you see the system let someone go even though they were trolling. The system is very advanced so ATM it's not even near perfect but eventually it will get close.

Yeah but no one has fun playing with trolls that don't chat they just troll And they are on the rise. Probably because its summer and school is out, but holy shit the average players I've been matched with the past few weeks have been doing everything from afk after 5 so we can't remake, taking over champ select and harassing other players, or just straight up refuse to play the game as a team cuz everyone else is "bad". I get that matches can be all over the place in normals, but I think we are all tired of how much shit people get away with. Prioritizing bans on "language" is stupid; we have a mute button. Pulling up chat logs and saying "oh you talked shit here, bye" does NOTHING for people taking in game actions. For instance:

Bot lane harasses a jg, says a whole bunch of raging stuff. Even some swear words and insults (oh my!). Jg, not using his mute button, doesn't say really anything rude back, but he proceeds to afk farm and doesn't gank, doesn't go to objectives, doesn't join the team and essentially does what he can to throw. The A-hole bot laner, although verbally abusive, keeps playing and trying to win, trying to make plays etc, but its the JG's actions that are holding back the win.

BOTH OF THEM ARE WRONG, but its probably the Bot laner with the "chat log evidence" thats going to get the ban, whereas the jg is not. Regardless of how mouthy the bot laner was, that laner's only direct contribution to the loss (besides in game mistakes) was telling the jg they're "shit". Even if this Jg player only does this throw stuff when people tilt him on his own team, he's more of a problem than the raging typer. He's screwing over his WHOLE team over another person's mutable comments. If you do it enough it could result in ban, but I've seen plenty of match history pictures of int feeders and trolls doing it game after game and getting away with it because THEY DONT TALK. Raging typers? Mute button is the simplest, easiest solution. Don't want to see people use offensive language? CHAT FILTER. TURN IT ON.

We as players have the power already to deal with language, we can't do shit about another player who wants us to take an LP loss. There shouldn't be suspensions for language other than chat restriction.

Honestly, we have a replay system, give us a report post game option where we go into our own game, save some clips, and send it in to be reviewed. It doesn't need to be instant feedback, unless you can get it there logistically. An internal count system could organize the accounts for review based on if they're getting a bunch of reports or not. IE if you have 2 video reports against you, and another person has 20, they'd look at the more actively reported account first. Then the person with 2 video reports would be eventually reviewed and dealt with accordingly. That way if you troll you have to worry about it coming back to bite you, period, with time stamp and date.

If you include a feedback system that says "This report was good in intention, but we've reviewed it and this person did nothing wrong", then you start creating a standard players can learn for whats reportable. You also create pressure to play the game correctly, cuz if not someones gonna see you trolling you will pay at some point.
