I'm a toxic player

Blasteriz··102 votes·6,796 views

I'm a toxic player, I enjoy playing the game but I keep getting ban after ban to a point I need to level up my 4th account to level 30.

Is there a way if I provide enough evidence to get a perma chat ban on my account? I know it sounds silly but I can't reform I get furious while playing videogames and one thing I realized is that while I'm chat banned I never waste my messages on flaming just on giving quick callouts and write short line of infomation to my team.

If you are one of the guys saying hey you should stop playing videogames I respect your opinion but it is what I love to do but sometimes I admit I take it way too serious and become incredibly toxic and behave badly which result in me getting bans.

Like right now as I speak I have a 14 day suspension on this account. Of course I'll just wait the suspension out but is there a way that riot and you the player can agree together that the account I own can be perma chat banned so I stop flame my team and get tilted myself and them by it.

Also it's hard to tell a toxic person to stop being toxic when you got anger issues. It's like saying as a example someone with parkinsons to stop shaking continously.

If a rioter or anyone that knows the fact if you can do this or not I would really apperciate if you could post in this thread so I can post a actual request to riot to do this.

Thanks for reading.

I honestly want to commend you for your honesty and resourcefulness! It takes alot of presence of mind to work on this stuff, good on you man.

And to be real honest Riot really ought to make this an option from the client settings page. "Mute all chat in game" I already know a good handful of people who arnt toxic that just automatically mute everyone they get into a game with pretty much in the first 30 secs of a match so they don't have to deal with potential flaming and toxicity, this would save time and relieve some pain points for a great deal of people.

Blasteriz15 votes

You are right, but one thing that bothers me under games when I press mute on a player is

Will the player later give calls, communicate, or tell the team infomation, well usually the player will continue be toxic after and before I muted them but it always makes me curious if they said anything good like actual ingame infomation etc.

But when my ban expires I will mute everyone and unbind enter to risk even being permabanned, I apperciate your post

Mig8911 votes

Look up how to unbind your chat button. Youll still see all of chat, you just cant chat yourself.

This is actually a really good idea. Simple, but effective. Definitely deserves attention.

I have made 2 post about having a automatic mute all feature in the settings, both times I get flamed and down voted, lol. But yes I been wanting this.

I think riot should add something like this that a player could request so they avoid having more toxic players and less banned players overall.

This. People fail to realize that there are people with actual anger problems.

elduris13 votes

That's true, but anger problems aren't the same as something like Parkinson's. You can work on anger issues with therapy or other resources to resolve it, the best you can do for Parkinson's is manage your symptoms. If you have anger issues, it's something you need to work on as it will affect many other parts of your life, not just your League of Legends account.

I mean is there a reason you cannot use self control and just not type? They aren't going to baby you by giving you a permachat. They don't do that to anyone else so why give you special privilege?

Blasteriz11 votes

I expected post like this to appear, of course at that time im extremely furious I would not care neither would I think about what I write and just constantly flame.

It is not like giving special privilege it's a step for toxic players to actually reform in a way without getting banned but I guess you did not get the point of the thread.

This should not concern you if you are not toxic and never been punished for this before. The reason I made this thread is to actually reform and get a actual reponse from someone that know or a rioter themself.

Void Nargacuga6 votes

Something to consider though is at one point players essentially did get perma-chat restrictions lasting into the 1000+ games and would keep adding on to it. Eventually those that where very toxic would resort to non-chat related toxic behavior. Intentional feeding, griefing, etc. In other words those players escalated to worse forms of toxic behavior.

The odds of getting a Rioter on the boards is kinda slim to none. A better option would be to unbind your enter key for chat. Its doable. And much easier.

Blasteriz4 votes

Hm intresting but this may be a dumb question but is there a tutorial how to get chat banned for that long, like I don't grief I do not give up under my games, I never inted once because it is the worst you can possibly do but still getting the same punishments.

Because I really would love that option

Void Nargacuga6 votes

That was under the old system. So it can't happen anymore.

I can make some other suggestions: Yell your frustrations at your screen instead of typing them out. Afterwards you should be in a clearer state of mind to make better use of the chat. I personally rarely chat, unless I'm not doing much (aka dead) or found someone who is willing to chat as well and formulate plans (or just have a friendly chat which can be rare in LoL), but I try to use pings as often as humanly possible without ping spamming and being a nuisance.

I Like Things 4 votes

All of what Void Nargacuga said is how I personally operate as well.

Anything negative I'd like to type to anyone on my team I will just announce out loud, no risk, I've said it, I can attempt to move on.

Also (not sure if you already have) but I don't play with /all chat on, ever.

Ad Vitam Aeterna4 votes

That wouldn't be a permanent chat ban, he wants to not be able to chat period. Chat restrictions start you off with a line or two of chat and give you more as the game goes on. You can hold onto them and flame the shit out of someone with 5 lines of chat mid-late

Void Nargacuga6 votes

I know its not a real chat ban like that, but I did give suggestions and ideas like unbinding the enter key. With the recent ping additions being able to ping so much now (items cooldowns, own ability cooldowns, enemy summoners to make note of them being down, dragon, baron, etc) it can be an effective form of communication.

The game still isn't able to ping actives such as Face of the mountain though. -_-

You can ping your own actives. You just ping the item in your inventory.

I know that, but what if I want to ping the shield active and not the trinket? What do I do then?

Mig892 votes

Im not sure im following. If you want to ping the face of the mountain shield you would ping the item. It has no other purpose for pinging. If you want to show if you have a ward available, ping a ward. If you see an enemy just popped their GA, ping their GA.

But it is giving special privileges. You are breaking the rules. you are asking to basically making it super easy and hold you to little to no responsibly on your actions. You dont want to be toxic dont use chat, how hard is that? Ive been playing this game for years, never got a chat ban or even a warning why because i dont need to take my frustration out in chat. When i get upset at the game, or a person i do other things to vent out my frustration. Thats what i dont understand with toxic people. You feel the NEED to vent in chat when its against the rules. You knowingly break the rules, then get upset when you get punish. If you dont want to get punish dont break the rules.

If anyone could request it I don't see it being special privileges, this is what I honestly don't understand with people like you commenting "You are asking to basically making it super easy and hold you to little to no responsibly on your actions" I'm a toxic player, I admitted to be a toxic player, I can not control my frustation under some situations and therefor flame and tilt me and my own team, and I don't see it being a special privilege if someone can request this action to be taken on their account, That means ANYONE can request it

I know I broke the rules it is kinda obvious but what the point of this thread is to prevent that to happen and fix it not just for me and other players that have this issue.

YES YOU CAN! Seriously if you cannot control yourself how do you function in the real world? If you get this mad at playing video games (something that is suppose to be relaxing) how do you go to your job and people piss you off, how did you go to school when people pissed you off. People get pissed off all the time for various reasons.

It is a special privilege because you are breaking the rules. its thats simple. You basically want to cut off all communication something that is necessary for this game and basically leave your teammates. Yes there is pings and in my opinion they work a hell of a lot better than chatting. its how i communicate, but i dont see why you cant do that as well? We have so much ways to not use chat, why is it so difficult for you to do the same thing everyone else does already?

You broke the rules but you dont seem to act like you learn why you were being punished as you are basically making excuses for your actions!

TheFlyingBeast695 votes

How is he making excuses for his actions when he clearly confessed what he did wrong. He requested this because he does not to begin all over again and found that a permanent chat ban is the solution which I agree since I never been chat banned before but my friends been and they all really could not flame under the chat bans and I know them personally which kinda suprised me because they are usually angry over videogames just like the OP in this thread described.

I Like Things 5 votes

Playing video games is in no way, shape or form correlative to how one operates in the real world. To make such assumptions is simply egregious.

Relaxing? If you personally find league of legends relaxing then all the best to you, truly. Don't project your own experiences onto others as though it has any merit though because we both know that it simply doesn't. You're grasping for straws in an attempt to justify your constant belittling of OP's simple request. Just stop. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Chønklord1 votes

I wouldn't go as far to say that playing video games is a form of relaxation -- for many it is simply the competitiveness of certain games which brings its own stressers (i.e. League). However, I will say you are somewhat wrong on the point about not having a correlation between behavior online/in video games and the real world; there is indeed some level of correlation between the two. An underlying level of social awkwardness, or attitude which can (and is most times) be repressed in real life and expressed when playing League (toxicity).

TL;DR If you're an asshole in the game, chances are you are a (closet) asshole IRL. League is stressful.

Fargo791 votes

cant control yourself?? really?? i can understand if its a medical condition.. but u can help it by simply not typing garbage in the chat.. so yes it is controllable.. maybe this player just needs actual medical help.. cause anger seems to be a problems if he is on his 4th account.. riot isnt the problem.. his temper and lack of control seems to be the issue...

Sounds like a good advice, but there is a downside to it.

Without chat = No communication with team at all.

With chat = Toxic sometimes and behave badly with callouts and infomation.

With chat ban = Never toxic because you have very limited messages and give infomation when needed.

But besides that it's a good idea.

Lauchmelder4 votes

Well you still got pings. You can even ping summoner spells now, so that makes it easier by a lot too.

My friend was and still is to this day a Yasuo main (must be very toxic, eh?)

In Season 4/5 when they used to give out 75 game chat restrictions + 35 ranked game restrictions, he somehow avoided a permaban and instead got a 1200 chat game restriction. Yes. 1200. 1200! It was crazy, but when I first met him he was always quiet in chat. Thought he was the good type of Yasuo that doesn't flame his team and would always type some long ass replies until I found out he had that MASSIVE chat restriction.

I don't know how he got it but when they removed ranked game restrictions + chat ban restrictions at the start of Season 6, he hasn't ever been toxic ever again.

If you can get to the same level of toxicity as him, I think you will be impressed with what 1200 reformed games would look like.

Wait so u still get a limited amount of chat with a chat ban? I thought it was just no chat at all. How much can you say? Just wondering.

Blasteriz2 votes

You get 3/5 messages at the start of the game. The maximum amount of messages you can have is 5 and you get 1 message per 4 minutes into the game or 6.

Let me tell you something. I have no respect to "i cannot stop being toxic" excuse. You can down-vote me, you can complain, but that is the truth and you need to accept it. Comparing this with Parkinson, which is a health issue is flatout disrespectful towards people with Parkinson. There is no health condition forcing you to be toxic, and being unable to hold your anger is not forgivable. Instead of speaking BS in forums and wanting stupid "bandage" solutions - refer to your real problem. There are therapist and there is nothing wrong or shameful to visit one. If you cannot afford them - invest time for self-improvement. There is always a way, as well as enough information in the Internet about that. You are free, of course, to ignore my words, but would you be able to find a "chat blocker" in real life when talking with your coworkers and family?

Blasteriz8 votes

Thing with real life is that you can usually control if something happens meanwhile in league you have to hold yourself in and accept the fact that you got a troller/inter on your team or you can flame.

I compared it to whatever came into my mind, I don't really insult people with parkinsons but what I'm trying to say is someone with parkinsons have it rough not shaking but someone with anger issues have it rough not to flame during these situations.

I think you got the point of the thread in a wrong way but I respect your opinion

He compared it to something that he felt was relateble to his problems he obviously did not have the intent to insult people with parkinsons, but that isn't the point of the topic.

Just want to mention that how people act in the real world is nothing like people act on videogames.

Yeah, no. Those 2 things are not the same at all. The person with parkinsons has a medical condition that can't be cured, you on the other hand need to just grow up.

Needler41 votes

That's not necessarily true. Having serious anger issues can be considered a mild mental illness (thats a bad term, but you get the point), as they don't get angry just because they don't have enough self control, but because they can't restrain themselves.

big boi edri2 votes

They go from 0-100 instantly with no in between because of underlying issues. I suppose you could theoretically call that a mental illness but it isn't one you need medication for, its one you can sort through yourself or with help.

99% of the time anyways, there are probably some rare cases where it actually IS a medical condition, but this scenario is 99.9% unlikely here.

Danjeng4 votes

I think you should address the issue of your anger problems, rather than playing around it. Sort of like how the issue of damage creep should be addressed, not exhaust's power.

If you learn to control your anger, it will not only improve your games, but your life.

Unbind your chat key bro.

You won't be able to give important messages but you can still communicate through pings, especially if it's a newer account that can't do ranked yet.

However if you're the type to spam ? pings, then this method won't work and I have no sympathy for you.

I think they should remove the ??? sign but keep the missing champion text because it is so tilting being spammed by it, it also makes me tilt and very rude.

Some people have already suggested un-mapping the enter key, but another possibility is to remap it to something obnoxious to hit. Like, I don't know, < or something. Might give you that extra bit of time to think about what you're writing.
