Today, I ended a game and noticed that I received a chat restriction. I do remember that a few games ago, some toxic player falsely reported me. However, I'm pretty sure that I haven't been toxic or negative in the chat at all, so I have no idea why I even got restricted. Is there any way I can appeal incorrect punishments such as this?
False reports don't hurt you. More likely you were saying something you don't realize isn't ok (such as asking to report, or retaliating with toxicity against another toxic player).
You can submit a Support Ticket to contest your ban, but the system is pretty accurate so it's unlikely they will overturn it.
I suggest posting your reform card here and getting a second opinion from the community. It's rare for a Rioter to see and take personal interest in a case presented on the forums.
9/10 you deserved the punishment you got, that other 1 time you deserved a lesser punishment or a more harsh one. Being that you only got chat restricted, I'd say just deal with the chat restriction they're usually not very long on the first offense.
