I swear in chat sometimes now these days and people claim it to be toxic, which its not. Then I got mad in chat today because I was having a bad morning. I felt little angry that someone died for first blood so I opened my mouth and got flamed. Now I get to wait 2 weeks for an unban, which I don't think is fair for swearing or being mad. I think this is unfair when you rage because you having a bad morning. Everyone has bad mornings or days in general.
You're right that everyone has a bad day now and then, and the system actually does take that into account. While being toxic is definitely not acceptable, if you behave like that very infrequently, it's not likely that you will be punished. You only get punished when your occasional bad days are happening more frequently than a large majority of other players.
Also, if you received a 2 week ban, that means that either you have already received 2 sets of chat restrictions recently, or that your behavior was severe enough to skip the chat restrictions and be escalated straight to a 2 week ban.
I've been banned 4 times now for swearing in chat, which everyone does. One of my friends who constantly says a lot of stuff in chat has no ban which is complete BS. The punishment should be chat restrictions or not aloud to use chat, not a 2 week ban. So because of this dumb and stupid thing that happened I get to enjoy most of Christmas break playing on a smurf account instead of climbing.
This community has been so unfair to me and people way worse than me get still play with no punishments that so fair. It's funny what stuff you get banned for these days. I'm not saying I didn't do anything I'm saying its unfair that I got a 2 week ban for swearing in chat because that is to long on of a punishment.
Swearing by itself isn't toxic or punished. It's when you're using those swears to be a jerk towards others that you get punished.
"Shit, I missed my ultimate!" - acceptable
"Wow, you're shit at this game!" - not acceptable
As far as punishments go, for chat related offenses they are dealt with in tiers:
1.) 10 game chat restriction
2.) 25 game chat restriction
3.) 14 day ban
4.) Permanent Ban
You start out at the first tier for your first offense, and each subsequent offense moves you up one tier, regardless of how minor the offense may have been. It is possible to skip the lower tiers and jump straight to a 14 day or permanent ban if your behavior is severe enough, and it's also possible to lower your punishment tier if you go long enough without being punished.
So, they start out with chat restrictions, but if you continue your unacceptable behavior, then you will eventually face a 14 day and then possibly even a permanent ban. Since you say that you have been banned 4 times, I'm going to assume that you have already gone through the chat restriction tiers, in which case it's normal for you to receive a 14 day ban after that.
In the middle of the game I apologized for my behavior because I was being a jackass I said: "I'm srry that I was being a jackass can you forgive me plz". My teammates answers "Aw look his mommy came in and made him apologize". I reported the player for being a jackass and they don't get a 2 week ban.
As I mentioned above, the system is set up to take into account that everyone does have an occasional bad day. If you were both reported in that game but only you got punished, it's likely because the other player doesn't behave that way too often while you do.
Something needs to be changed with punishments because they are just getting out of hand. People who intentionally feed get 5 game chat restrictions (that's fair), AFKs get 20 game chat restrictions, but when I swear in chat its a 2 week ban. Great idea, punish the people who swear harshly over people who intentionally feed and AFK(or both). I'm outraged at this and very disappointed, it's just dumb. Someone please help me get others to notice this so that people who suffer the same punishment can get change by not being punished for doing almost nothing.
People who AFK or intentionally feed DO NOT get chat restrictions at all because that does not do anything to address the offense committed. When Riot bans an intentional feeder, they receive a 14 day ban right off the bat for the first punishment, and the second punishment (I believe) is a permanent ban. People who AFK in game receive a Low Priority Queue as a punishment, where they have to wait a certain amount of time before actually entering queue, and they have to do this for 5 completed matches. The amount of time they have to wait increases if they continue to AFK.
