Is this really enough for a 14 day ban?

I'm sure there are ton's of these and I'll admit im pretty toxic and I've been trying to work on it and I have been honestly. However is this enoughf or a 14 day ban?

My team was flaming me because I was doing pretty shit on vayne, even telling me to kill myself as i even comment about it in game. I didnt remove anything from this. I also said " shit team " at the end because i thought it was funny that we won even though i was 2/9 at one point but ended up 11/14 and we won. I also called someone a shitter because they were trying to flame me for doing bad, telling me to off myself and that i don't know how to play. I didn't report any of them after the game, because personally idc enough to. I've been banned before and not going to lie chat restriction made sense i said some bad stuff so i never doubted it. But the most directed thing i said to someone here was " nerd ". Is this really enough for a 14 day ban? Iremember when dunkey got banned for 14 days he said some pretty powerful stuff. Is this really the same level? At the top of the ban it even says " Because a player-triggered review found your in=game comms excessively inflammatory and offensive, your account's been suspended " Can someone really say this is excessively inflammatory? If it is I must just be blind.

Enough for a ban isn't really a thing. There is enough for a punishment, or enough to be escalated to a higher punishment. Severity is only one factor. The others and often more significant factors are frequency and recidivism. Even those minor things are considered unacceptable. There is some slack to tolerate a small amount of "bad day" type of situations. Punishments are not just a slap on the wrist and send you on your way thing. You cannot just continue the negative behavior, or you will be permanently banned. Every punishment is pushing a person towards a permanent ban.

The unfortunate part for you, is the system does NOT care if they were assaulting you verbally, the system does NOT care if they were harassing you, the system just does NOT care about YOU. It looks at the fact that you spent the entire game talking nearly, and that you said some words that are trigger words. Where are the other two matches? It takes 3 matches for a 14 day ban typically. Post those and I might agree personally that it was a false report. But I am not RIOT. ALSO, as I said, the system is not designed to take into account whether they were abusing you. Only that you talk way too much and said trigger words. Personally, I wouldn't want to play with you, as I would have to mute you.

God I would have muted you within the first 5 sentences. People like you are so irritating.

But I don't think that is ban worthy. Though if that behavior was repeated over several games, a chat restriction would be in order. Gotta shut the dog up at some point!

Odd. You should have more on your client. This is definitely stuff I'd put on a punishment list, you are being a shit. How long ago was your 25 game restriction, that can also affect it.

The system didn't go "this is bad enough to warrant a ban". It's more like "is this behavior bad enough to deserve a reprimand of any kind?" There's a 4-tier punishment system (10-game CR, 25-game CR, 2-week ban, permaban), and each successive punishment steps you up to the next tier. It's possible to skip tiers if you really cross lines, but you didn't behave badly enough to justify that.

However, you were still fairly negative; enough to warrant a punishment, obviously. In this case your next step was a 14-day ban, so that's what happened. You've got a fine line to walk now, because the next infraction will trigger a permanent suspension.

To be perfectly honest, it looks like most of what you said was intended largely as trash-talking, but the point is that it still made the experience less fun for everyone else. It's very difficult to convey the tone you want through text, so it's easy for your comments to be interpreted as worse than you meant them to be. You just have to take this into account and clearly establish that it's all in good fun, and then be willing to stop if someone still seems to object.

Just a warning - most people are just here for karma and to get their jollies off to make themselves feel better by ripping you so they are going to cherry pick quotes and use them as evidence to why its necessary. Would not pay attention to that or the effortless downvotes they will give you.

I probably would have reported you, so, yeah.

I got permanently banned for saying our mid was a noob and asking our team to please surrender. So join the club.

Finally: you cant dive me nerd Finally: im the best Finally: gg ez Finally: i win Finally: no ganksbad jg Finally: gank more nerd

Passive-aggressive and unsportsmanlike conduct.

Finally: learn to jg

Not helpful or needed.

Finally: shitter Finally: learn to cs

rude, unhelpful and not needed. There are much better ways and words to use to try to explain to people how to cs better than these.

Finally: 0/4 ashe more cs than our adc

Indirectly harassing your teammate for having low cs.

Finally: nice cs mf Finally: yeah Finally: and more cs than vayne Finally: explain that Finally: ashe has more cs too Finally: troll support? Finally: lmao Finally: ur supp has more sc

Again, indirectly harassing your teammate for having low cs.

Finally: rengar you didnt gank top and ur salt

Not needed and not helpful.

Finally: you were 3/0 mf Finally: youve died 6 times doing shit Finally: you came to my lane and took 3 waves Finally: still less cs than me

Now you're directly harassing mf over her poor playing.

Finally: did i ask Finally: :> Finally: dont explain idrc Finally: 0/11 Finally: dank 1v1

Arrogant and selfish attitude.

Finally: gg Finally: shit team Finally: Godsu

More unsportsmanlike comments and conduct.

Conclusion:

When someone on your team does poorly in cs you continue to harass them over it for the entire game both directly and indirectly as well. Not only that but you display unsportsmanlike conduct and behavior in addition to what I perceive as an arrogant and selfish attitude to boot.

My Advice:

  • If someone is playing poorly, chances are they already know that they are, so there's no need or reason to continuously harass someone over their poor play.
  • When giving advice, saying things like "learn to X" doesn't help or solve anything and is just rude and disrespectful overall. Saying things like "try using your Q instead of your AA to get cs more safely" is both respectful and helpful as well. Not only that but your teammate is more likely to listen to you when you phrase things like that instead of in the form of a rude and disrespectful demand.
  • Even if your team is doing poorly, the least you can do is try to maintain a respectful and sportsmanlike attitude. I know that it's easier said than done, but it's better than being an unsportsmanlike jerk.

My Verdict: Punish.
