Whiel I agree that calling for reports should be bannable, it is not OK for Riot NOT to let us know.

I am a long time player, I have been toxic many, many, many times. I have called for thousands of reports.

It is fine that calling for reports is bannable. After all, it is Riot's game and it creates a negative enviroment. However, despite playing the game for over 5 years, I only learned that reports are bannable recently. Maybe it was just me, but my friends (also long time players) didn't know about this either.

I learned this the hard way and it sucked, a friend got permabanned because he found out too late.

What I say we do, is put a red warning sign every time someone types "report" in chat that reads "You can be banned for calling for reports" or something along those lines. If someone is fine with that then let them go ahead, but my ignorance got me a 14 day ban, a 25 game chat restriction and other punishments in the past.

E.G. if @Riot Tantram responds to this, could you please PM me (or something like that) my full punishment history, going as back as my account's creation if possible? Thanks.

I may be naive, maybe explaining the report system in game can help.

Put it in writing right in front of peoples faces: this is how the system works. "Gang reports" are treated the same as "single reports". Asking for others to report is offensive. Context does not matter, don't say bad things. Etc.

Maybe even show this screen after every report. Give no excuses for people to misuse the system.

it creates a negative enviroment.

There you go. I get that in hindsight, it's 20-20, but I've never done it. Because I realized it was pointless and all it does is aggravate the person you are reporting further.

It seems obvious when you do realize that calling for reports is a punishable offense... but I can see how people would not know. They should be a little more forthcoming in explaining what's bannable and what is not. I've never read the summoners code, but I use common sense to decide what's negative. However, common sense ain't so common. Something straight off the client would be helpful for people to know and not have any excuse to break the summoners code.

One caveat; you probably didn't get punished purely for calling for reports. That sounds a little exaggerated. Calling for reports was probably a minor infraction that came after being toxic... as you said, you've been toxic many, many times. So it's not like calling for reports is the only reason you or your friends got banned. Toxic is the most used word by people who have been punished. So you probably got sassy with someone, called them toxic, called for reports, and overall added to a negative, distracting chain of chat. It's not solely the calling for reports, that's usually what you do after you already participated in some toxic chat.
