Why are special characters/other languages not included in hate speech detection?
Why doesn't it catch special characters? If I replace e with ę or o with 0, it should flag it anyway.
It should also flag other languages not only English.

Probably the sheer impossibility of tracking every combination possible.
If "aardvark" is a bad word, and I can use a, A, 4, À, Á, Â, Ã, Ä, Å, à, á, â, ã, ä, å, Ā, ā, Ă, ă, Ą, ą, Ǎ, ǎ, Ȁ, ȁ, Ȃ, ȃ, Ȧ, ȧ, Ʌ, Ⱥ, Ȧ, Ʌ, ɐ, Ά, ₳, ∀ to replace just the As then we're already looking at 50,653 different words on your banned words like just to cover this ONE word.
At some point you have to cut out the most common occurrences, and accept that your punishment system responds to the other edge cases.
I think we should ban everybody who uses the chat anyway. Lets put all dictionaries in the hate speech detection. Also, lets try to swap every letter with anything else, maybe that way we can get a racial slur. If you think about it, if you take away 3 letters from "mom" and put in 6 other you can get the N-word :D
I always thought it was unfair that this happened. I grew up in a bad part of town so, in addition to English, I learned a LOT of curses and racist terms in Spanish and I can pretty much tell when someone is just trash talking. I always report them but I never get the instant feedback message.
(I know it's not a consistent message that comes up, but I've gotten it so many times before)
Instant feedback message is to the last person that reported though. Not everyone gets the notification. Even if they did, it still doesn't say what exactly happened. chat restriction, 14-day suspension, perma, warning, etc...
Does "kurwa" even count? Also you know what is bullshit? How riot just announced pre-game and after-game flaming would be detected but I didn't see it anywhere being added and bcs of that I have a 14 day suspension
