Isn't it annoying when you have someone selected, and someone on your team decides to ban them. that just happened to me so I dodged because it was the only mid champion that I was confident to play in ranked. I then got negative lp. I wish there was a way to punish these people, or some way to report them in the lobby.
Players should be allowed to ban whatever champion they want.
If you can only use "one" champion, then ranked is not for you
there are many reasons why someone might have banned a hovered champ. they might have looked at match history and saw 0 play or poor play, someone might be trying to take a role from someone, they might be worried about the other team getting the champ, champ might be bad in rest of team comp or meta... the big one that makes it allowed is the one where they are worried about the enemy team getting the champ
People are allowed to ban whom they please, regardless if their team wants to play them or not. It goes the same way if someone with a higher pick order than you chooses to use a champion you want to play.
You may not like it, but it’s your responsibility to continue being a team player, or you could dodge.
I have to admit, I ban my allies potential picks as well sometimes.
When Yasuos going mid and Ezreals going bot and the jungle is something light weight and highly circumstantial, and someone dodged the previous team and I end up on the opposite side of the team against the malphite sejuani graves miss fortune rakan comp, I just don't really want a Teemo to round out the loss, you know what I mean?
Sometimes to make sure your team wins you have to keep them from making bad choices. You don't mean to hurt them or be rude, but some players are lower level and just don't understand how to create a winning composition. You often get those who "will play the game however they want" and will swear and insult you no matter how often they feed.
To the OP, politely, it may be helpful if you learned more characters in normal before venturing into ranked if you only have one person to pick in the position you want. Politely.

I dont understand why your post is being downvoted... I agree with you there are people who literally troll and ban your champion and it is not about banning whoever you want, which of course people can do BUT theres also the case where people ban your champion on purpose to spite you which is crazy :/
On the other hand I always ban the new champions that have just been reworked in ranked because the level of experience is lacking so if somebody picks a brand new champion with barely any play time I will for sure ban that.
Now people can argue with me that everyone can ban whoever they want but the game is about teamplay and playing your best*[poppy-wink]*
Guess what, Its banning phase, People can ban who they want. I will admit, I dont care if a player on my team picks Yi, I am banning it. Yi is a headache as an enemy, but is pretty much a guaranteed loss as an ally
Yi players are arrogant, narcissistic and only interested in themselves. They will wait 20-30 minutes and will not help lanes until after they are LVL 10 with 6-0 jungle kills and 100 cs before they even think of assisting lanes. And when the enemy jungler camps a lane while they are hiding out in thier jungle waiting till they are "OP ENUF" to start helping lanes. They will Blame a lost lane on the Laners, NOT the fact they were non-existant while the enemy jungler was active and camped the lane.
SO yeah, IDGAF if a yi is on my team, I am banning them. Less headache. You can cry all you want But Its a banning phase and I dont want to deal with a yi on either side. So I am banning a CHAMPION OF MY CHOOSING. Yi One-tricks, mains, Kiss your selection goodbye You people are more interested in controlling your entire match to fit your ego, I am getting rather sick of it,
