i cant help but to notice how the league of legends boards are flooded by social justice warriors ready to defend whatever decision riot has made.It was just the other day when i was reading a post about a guy who got falsely banned for intentional feeding i couldnt help but to notice how many social justice warriors rushed to defend riot and downvoting him to death commenting stuff like "you have almost no assists so you didnt group with your team"or "your deaths are too many" eventualy the guy uploaded a replay of the game and got his suspension removed.This is just one of the numerous incidents.Another obvious example would be the posts about solo queue in season 6 where social justice warriors would rush to insult the players rank and of course defend riot.Are the boards just controled by a small group of SJWs circlejerking eachother? I doubt any of these people are even players,they just come to forums to troll other users and make fun of their misfortunes. Can we actualy give players the ability to control the boards and take it away from these people?

In a community where intentionally ruining the game for everyone else is the worst thing you can do, it's expected that there will be little to no sympathy for those that are punished for it, and may be predisposed to not automatically believe claims that it was a mistake. Knowing this, please try to ignore those that focus on this in a negative manner.

That said, there are definitely those that are just there to help the player understand where they did go or may have been going wrong, and want to help the player improve by providing them relevant and correct information. You don't need to believe the punishment was an error to do that, but it also doesn't mean you have to pretend you have no opinion on the matter.

Simply put, ignore the negativity that comes with it and respond only to the constructive comments.

then you look in their boards profile and thats what they do all day they just sit there on the boards like this http://i.imgur.com/DpQ9YJl.png circlejerking eachother for upvotes,those people arent even players they are just a couple of sorry individuals taking over an online forum to troll and make fun of the actual players to pass only their opinion.

Here's a good question then. What are you expecting people to say and why does this just sound like with this post that you're targeting those who are putting a voice of reason out there instead of memes and flavor of the month gags or circlejerks in which you claim?

It's true that there are some who only post pointless comments like "gg enjoy your ban" and things of that nature, but they are few and far between. Most of us regulars will often try to break down the OP's reform card, help them understand where they went wrong and how they can avoid making those mistakes again in the future. That being said though however, known forum trolls and salty players who intentionally go around spreading misinformation and/or refuse to listen to the facts presented to them aren't gonna get much in the way of sympathy.

Also, if we defend Riot it's because their behavioral systems have a proven track record that works just fine. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done. Who would you want to listen to: a forum troll who is just out for revenge over being punished or Riot who has access to more information than we do and the regulars who genuinely try to help others out with the information made public and accessible by Riot?

There's having an opinion and then there's just lashing out at those that don't share your opinion. It's perfectly fine to have an opinion as long as you state it in a respectful manner and don't lash out at those who disagree with it. For example, I like eating shells and cheese, but if you don't then that's fine, I'm not gonna go out of my way to harass you on that. Yes it's rare for opinions that disagree with the IFS to have allot of support behind them (mostly because they're from players just complaining about being hit by it and attacking anyone who's not with them on it), but there are a select few every now and then that gets some support from the community.

Also, if you check the accounts of most regulars you'll find that most of us still play the game on a semi-regular basis. If we didn't enjoy the game then we wouldn't be here trying to help others out. We don't have to play the game 24/7 in order to help others out on the forums: that's unrealistic.

Tldr: The reason why allot of posts/threads are downvoted is because they're often the same old things time and time again.

  1. Complaints about being punished along with excuses trying to justify the punishable behavior.
  2. Complaints about being punished while claiming that they were only punished for saying X and/or doing Y.
  3. Insults and attacks against those that are not anti-riot.
  4. Complaints about the punishment system while not offering up any potential reasonable solutions that are not ones that have already been debunked either by Riot and/or the community in general.
  5. Posts/people that are going around intentionally spreading lies and misinformation.

We regulars do our best to help out but we don't exactly have much sympathy for those who are not only unwilling to listen but also for those who make it their job to intentionally spread misinformation and attack those that disagree with them and/or call them out on their behavior. Yes we regulars can always improve but it's a two-way street. If you want help then we'll help you, but only while you remain respectful and don't lash out at us when we do so.

Spot on! I'm experiencing this now from someone who literally has 20 games on their account but I bet has poured hundreds of hours into the forums spouting off about how "toxicity" ruins the game. What toxicity could this person have experienced in 20 games?
