Falsely Chat-Banned

Hello, everyone!

Here today to talk about an unfair chat ban that I received.

In a recent match, a pre-made team that I was on went against another team that was also pre-made, except that the other team consisted of sore losers, then sore winners. After ignoring and muting, losing and eventual reporting, I received a message that I had a chat ban. Now, I know there's no way I can prove what was said in chat (if I was raging along with them or not), but as a Summoner that is usually more than likely honored for good sportsmanship, I don't think I should have received a ban for being reported 5 times by a team that was just trying to get a rise out of someone and that knew 5 reports would result in a punishment. The enemy team spammed chat with usual things like:

  1. "Are you autistic?
  2. "Are you f-ng 12? Because you suck so bad."
  3. "You guys a trash please die"
  4. "You guys are losing soooo badly. Are you mad? You should be because you suck d---k."

I mean, who wouldn't mute someone? We all know that getting mad at players with bad behavior just adds fuel to the fire.

I really wish the chat restriction could be alleviated, but I'm willing to deal with another 9 games to have it lifted. Is there anyway that this could be fixed? It even went as far as the other team (the 5 that reported me) sending me friend requests to spam me with more hate. I hope this doesn't show up on my account to inhibit me from receiving awards for good sportsmanship. I know that every thing on my account is my responsibility, but I have teammates (who were also reported but not given a punishment) that can vouch for what happened, because this simply isn't fair. As long as there's no permanent damage to my fair account, I can deal with the restriction.

I think that daily honors should override my FIRST "punishment" by a group that literally reported me because they could.

Thank you to those who read and reply,

Illumineaux

The number of reports you get for a game doesn't really mean anything. A single report flags it and then the system goes through and sees if it finds stuff it's programmed to punish you for. Though I really wish it would send a reported game with punishable content to a human for verification as I've seen really mild stuff get punished before.

Show your reform card.

The only thing you can really do is file a support ticket and ask them, but you should have received a reform card in game.

I just had the same thing happen to me, my team because of a duo gaining the support of m,y top and mid to gang up against me andd report me. The adc literally even saidd "Ddont report unskilled report verbal abuse since riot doesnt read logs, they wont ban us anyways."

What others say doesn't matter, what matters is what you say. Retaliation is not okay, and when you do retaliate negatively you force your teammates (and enemies if you do it in all chat) to listen to you rage. If someone's bothering you then just mute them and report them after the game. By not retaliating against them you make sure that the only ones who get punished are them and not you. Also, in order to get chat restricted you have to have a history of behaving poorly across multiple games and not just one.

If you post your Reform Card then we can help you understand where exactly you went wrong and what you can do in the future to avoid getting punished again.
