While I guess there's technically nothing forcing you to continue playing, I'd still recommend you don't leave. It would be better if you muted the player abusing you in chat, that way you are still defending yourself against the abuse but you're not punishing the other players on your team.

of course you have to keep playing, there is absolutely no reason not to considering how you can easily mute the player and report him after the game

The universe could be coming to an end, and you'd still be punished if you left a game.

Technically yes. You're free to leave the game at any time. But this doesn't exempt you from the consequences of abandoning the game.

In general, you shouldn't play a game that makes you unhappy. But if you want to play again in the future, then you should finish up that game. Regardless of the reason, Riot's automated Leaverbuster system will penalize you for creating a negative experience for other players. And even if you never want to play again, you should consider that if there's even one person on your team that wasn't verbally abusing you, then you AFKing will be you abusing that innocent person.
