What is wrong with the current community?

My question is why does Riot care how people act towards each other in game? Do people really need a safe space because words hurt? I'm curious as to how many players have dropped off league from this especially in lower elo.

not enough :D but lets be honest the demographic is changing people feel more entitled to their opinions adn want everyone adn everything to agree with them even if they're wrong or at error Its a sign of the times the generations are changing but the community isnt worse because of it.

I believe the philosophy of Riot is that people shouldn't HAVE to just take toxicity and abuse. They want their players to enjoy a game experience without the hurtfulness of feeling attacked or just having a shitty time.

My opinion is semi the same, but I feel like there are some things that are grey, for example, trashtalking is a very important part of competitive experiences, but Riot bans trashtalking. That I think is unfair, but each to his/her own.

Tl;dr: Positive experience = more people playing AND enjoying themselves.
